20 SECOND PENALTY FOR SEB

:censored: joke! Draconian penalty.

Hopefully EwanM is wrong in what he's told you.

Don't agree at all that it's draconian. He will have known full well that he completed the overtake off track. He was clearly faster as he finished a good bit ahead of Button. He could (and should) have given the place back immediately, and still likely would have been able to make a fair pass on either the same or next lap, then taken the second place fairly with no controversy. As such, a drive through is a fair and indeed completely apt punishment.

This is what I wrote in the Pool thread in response to Andrew, it was a premeditated move, Vettel was completely aware of what he was doing!

Yeah 20 seconds is fair. He should have rammed Button off the track and nothing would have happened!

No argument with regards to this one, really.

All this leaves a clear passage for Alonso's 3rd WDC though.

And one that on the merits of the season to date he would thoroughly deserve given where Ferrari were for the first couple of races and how well and consistently he's performed.

No arguments against his performance, but these WDCs he wins in Ferrari will be the same worth as Schumacher's lap dog WDCs..no intra team pressure, undisputed no.1 status while the other top teams have teammates going at each other as well as everyone else.

Nothing official yet, discard all the gossips and wishful thinking found on sites like BBC/etc. If it's not on Formula1.com then it might no be true. And Vettel's penalty isn't yet announced on formula1.com (hell, no news regarding this in the past half hour). :nono:

WTF? It's there, on the FIA official statement. What more proof is needed, and why is there even a debate?!?!?!? *facepalm*

It's either trolling, gross stupidity, or clinging to a completely futile hope...

To be fair, it's not on the F1A's site and it wouldn't be difficult to knock-up a "statement".

Eitehrway, I couldn't really care.
