I don't have a preference, they all sound lame. The Renault sounds funny, like someone's got a serious chokehold on it and making it perform at the same time.

Man when they showed the 2013 footage I was like "hey it's F1!!" lol....seriously, I wonder if this new sound will ever grow on me.

I like them, the sound all futuristicy and cool. My casual F1 watching friend heard them yesterday and remarked they sounded like Star Wars pod races (The only good bit in the Phantom Menace)

Has anyone heard the Renault running yet? Does it even start? Does it sound like it is trying to feed its turbo with its own pistons?

Trackside, that whine, whilst initially thrilling, did get on your tits after a while though. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Or get some titmuffs?

Perhaps we'll see a reconsideration of the turbo rpm limits, the horse power limits, the engine rev limits and maybe even the fuel flow limits. One weekend of GP2 cars matching the F1 times is all that it would take.

The problem with that is it will increase fuel usage. Everyone is going to have a 100L fuel tank installed

But the GP2cars were going faster last year because of spaghetti tyres.

Indeed that is correct. However, fundamentally the F1 car was clearly superior. This years F1 car .... well, driven by the "lets have a budget/spending cap at all costs" disciples has simply led us to cars that are 6 seconds slower than last year and 10 seconds slower than 10 years ago :banghead:

The worse part is, there is no easy way to reverse or fix it :irked:

Well if we didn't have those people we'd be watching two Ferraris and two red bulls drive around a track. And the red bulls would still have been 20 seconds up the road.
