In all honesty Amanda if I was a newcomer to F1 and wathed yesterday's race I'm sure I would have been wondering what all the buzz is about Formula 1 and gone back to watch a exciting game of soccer or even tennis. The "race" sucked since there really wasnt one. I was happy for Vettel until things gone a bit south for him. Happy for Alonso and Massa. Not happy that Vettel wasnt on the podium. Was also hoping that Sutil was in the points at least.

I've seen worse races there was overtaking (at the start, and rubens vs lewis and some racing at the back) and there was drama.

It wasn't great but it was certianly better than an average football or tennis match.

Yeah, I don't know where soccer got this reputation as "exciting" from. It's a pretty repetitive 90 minutes of people running around with a ball. There are very few "wow" moments in soccer. I would say to be exciting a sport needs some spectacle, like we have in F1 and like you see in NFL. That being said, for an F1 race, Sunday's event at Bahrain was pathetically dull and I think at least part of the blame goes to the new rules, but the problem was exacerbated by the crappy new track extension. Lap is too long and too slow to be of any interest. Singapore I think has the same problem.

i think a second stop could of bennifited a lot of drivers out there, whenever a car got new rubber, it was going 1.5 - 2 secs a lap faster, suprised no one tried pitting with 20 to go, as pit stops take much less time now seems you could make the time up doing 2 secs faster per lap

New rubber only gives a lot of extra speed for the first 5 laps or so and a pit stop costs around 19 seconds it would also cost a lot of on track positions so to make it worth it you would have to be on average a second per lap faster for the whole stint and be able to overtake all those cars that you lost out to on a pit stop. It's hard to overtake Lewis was about a second a lap faster than Rosberg but couldn't overtake him even with a very large straight line speed advantage.

Has there been any news about Webbers 'fogging' at the start?

Excess oil, apparently. Kubica said that Renault had put too much in their cars, too, but took a little out after the parade lap. Guess Red Bull opted not to.

Now you see why I got fed up with Football/Soccer/whatever and went off it. :P

I think it was just excess oil burning off, it has been known to happen pretty often at starts, I recall the same thing happening to Damon Hill whilst he was pulling off into the lead at Magny Cours in 1996 and he was never troubled for the rest of the race.

I've finally caught up! I missed the full race weekend thanks to a trip to Leeds and spent a hungover Sunday afternoon watching Qualifying, the race and the forum in quick succession

I'm adding Hispania to my fan list! They're miles off the pace, they've had no testing and their reliability sucks but I really want them to do well (I'm British, I think I'm predisposed to like the underdog).

What were you doing down in my neck of the woods? :P

I think Hispania are going to become another Super Aguri - the feisty and popular underdog team which everybody wants to see do well.
