Nope... more like Red Bull who conveniently involved Pirelli!!

Right...I don't think other teams would just lie down and let Redbull run the show, they had enough of that from Ferrari in the 2000s. :hehe:

Pirelli might have been pressured by Redbull but the Silverstone GP was a farce and something had to be done. And Pirelli acted, there was no way anyone was getting into an F1 car again with the same spec tyres as Silverstone. If it disadvantaged a few teams, too bad. The tyres were too dangerous.

So sagi58, are you actually saying that Red Bull will get something changed on safety grounds? What safety grounds, with Pirelli we had exploding tyres that each team had.
Now we have a Red Bull that goes slowly and then catches fire and blows up.
Also I'd have to agree with allowing Red Bull and Renault additional test time and rule changes to enable them to race because that was the precedent set last year. All would have been unnecessary if the ridiculous testing and practice ban was not in place.

Surely you guys are joking and dont think the regulations will be changed because of this situation

Some teams could not design cars that were safe under the rules determined for the 2013 season. Other teams felt their cars were designed to be safe. There is plenty on the record from Ferrari, Lotus and FI to that effect. They also did not want the rules changed mid-season.

However, the rules were changed mid-season.

Well the precedent was set last year. Therefore it would not surprise me if, like last year, they allowed extra testing for some and changed some rules.

Rosberg finishes what looks like the first race sim of 2014 - congrats there. As it was a race sim I"d assume they used race settings, including power and fuel loads. Which also means the Merc managed their fuel consumption as they planned.

You really think Ferrari and Merc are going to allow a major rule change to allow Red Bull to become competitive? What rules change did you have in mind that doesnt benefit the others?
(apart from the last 3 races double points as that was an idea before this Jerez fiasco)

AMuS Live:
11:58 Von Mercedes hören wir, dass bei der aktuellen Rennsimulation von Nico Rosberg in Sachen Spritverbrauch alles im grünen Bereich ist.

We hear that Mercedes in the current race simulation of Nico Rosberg in terms of fuel consumption, everything is in the green zone. The Silver Arrows are obviously a step further than the competition.

Scares me to think what AN might think up, but he only has to argue that it is to make his, and the Torro Rosso cars safe.

Good post mate - so we can be sure Merc were really running race power mappings/settings.

@nico_rosberg: "Cool, day 4 of testing & already completed a full race practice. Will now hand over the car to @lewishamilton."

Thats pretty impressive then, that Merc have turned up with a race ready car for a brand new major regulation era almost without a hitch. Ferrari have done well as well, they probably would have the little issues they are having most years anyway, they seem to have also solved the new regs.
Infact if it wasnt for Renault and RBR showing what can happen when you screwup, we would think it was easy, and forget what happened to Mclaren and Ferrari in 2009

I know you're half joking with the comparison, but the Pirelli situation is not the same. Teams had a choice of engines, they didn't have a choice of tires.

After a race distance for Nico this morning, Lewis will drive this afternoon to even up mileage this week #TeamEffort

Good stuff! If something happens to the car now, Lewis might be forced to change his car number I think. :hehe:

12:14 Magnussen pits, but Alonso is still out. A very good run this for the Ferrari man, who hasn't dropped below the 1m37/38s bracket.

Hamilton back in the car
Lewis Hamilton gets another go in the Mercedes. He has driven a lot less than Nico Rosberg due to a front wing failure on Tuesday and a transmission problem on Thursday. So Mercedes has rescheduled their plans to give him some more running this afternoon
