- 26 Jul 12, 17:00#314028DNF = huge loss in value. So cause he DNF'd Hamilton lost the maximum amount from his value, i think 4 million. It works the other way too, ie, when Schumacher got on the podium at Valencia after many poor results, his value shot up.
I get the impression this site is in it's first season so that might be the cause of the misjudgement. Although i think in some ways it is quite good cause if you are in trouble you can exploit that feature to get some good drivers in.
Two things I've noticed: 1) drivers' values can drop up to $4M if they DNF even if it's due to something out of their (or even their team's) control, like getting taken out by Maldonado, for example. And 2) most of the weight in their value calculation seems to be their last race - not long-term performance (now Jenson is valued $5.6M higher than Lewis, despite performing poorly for most of the season). But it makes it interesting, and allows you to pick some guys up who you would have otherwise never been able to afford.
And I actually kinda like the 1-move-per-race rule. Makes you really think about your long-term strategy.
