Alguersuari almost got the arse mid year, then he finally got with the program, so I can see why he's been given up on, same with Buemi. Capable of some good drives, but not consistently.

Very much expecting to see Alguersuari go to HRT now, thinking about it...

Wouldn't be a bad way to go. He's Spanish, he has some backing as far as I'm aware and it would make sense to have one young driver to pair with de la Rosa. I can't help but feel it will be someone less competent, however. Maybe less likely than when Colin Kolles was in charge, I will admit...

This is an interesting point actually. How do we feel about teams adopting an all-national sort of feel? With HRT increasingly talking of becoming an all-Spanish outfit, and Force India looking to eventually be the same thing, albeit Indian and also with Mercedes having a distinct German feel?

I mean, would Pedro de la Rosa have even been within a shout of getting the drive had he not been Spanish? Probably not.

The question I put forward is this. Is there an increase in teams adopting an all-national outlook (A1GP sort of style), and does this blind the top brass in the sense that talent is being put second to nationality?

Alain Prost tried it when he took over at Ligier and renamed it Prost. It was meant to be an all French team but that didn't work out. If you want national teams, watch A1 GP or at least re-runs of it seeing as the series folded.

It was a pile of :bs: how that series came about and then went. It aspired to become much more popular than F1. Everyone knew it would backfire. :rolleyes:

Some might ideally want it to go that way, but ultimately the better drivers should win out. After all, I doubt Ferrari would take Liuzzi and Trulli over Vettel and Alonso. :P

Indeed. :hehe: Ferrari have never been ones to go solely for Italians. Perhaps for the best... :P

Spain's Maria De Villota is hoping for the Test Driver role with Lotus Renault GP. How far has Bruno Senna fallen? Judging by her helmet she's got some big Spanish sponsorship money and Senna doesn't.

You didn't even mention McLaren! Finding 2 top German or British drivers is easy, I don't see Force India being able to replicate them.

I didn't mention McLaren because it's only since 2010 that they've had two British drivers, but both happen to be champions... the kind of material that McLaren like. Fair enough, McLaren do the British Young Driver of the Year programme and such things, but they are not historically a team that has simply chosen to go with British drivers only.

No historically you could call them a New Zealand team anyways :P

Indeed. But times changed when big Ron rolled in. :P

The Hulk is back. 8-)

:yes::clap:

I'm glad to see the Hulk back! It's been too long! It's a shame about Sutil, but there's no doubting that Nico is good too.

Anyone think he'll put the Force India on pole at the first race? :P
