Yesterday I received a package from the UK; which should have contained 200 compact discs; but only 81 were in the box; it appears that the contents were taken out of the original box; then re-boxed in a smaller box, the shipping labels were cut off the original box and taped using USPS tape to the new smaller box; but 119 compact discs were not placed back in the box; so 60% of the original package has vanished seemingly, I'm waiting to hear back from USPS after submitting an official complaint. I'm not happy as there are almost $1600 worth of compact discs missing; many of which are not replaceable at this time as quite a few were CD singles from the 90s.

That sucks mate... but it is also an incredibly random thing to happen. Are you certain all 200 got sent? i.e. was it a purchase or someone mailing you them?

On a lighter note, there must be some right dodgy CD's you received if they weren't even worth stealing.

I was told by the company that mailed them on behalf of my father that there were 200 CD's from two bath towels in the package. These are things that got left behind after my impromptu relocation to the States. The most annoying things that have gone missing is eight of my Iron Maiden CD's, I received three of the 11 Maiden CD's I own!
