I prefer salad cream, broon sauce or tomato ketchup. :cloud9:

I tried Marmite once. Ain't making that mistake again. It tastes horrible and has got to be the most arrogant of condiments.

For once, I agree with Andrew.

I don't like Marmite, but a do wonder how the hell a condiment, an inanimate object, can be arrogant.

I guess it is because it contains yeast - pretentious, lewd yeast. :headshake:

Well gang, congrats on a truly great effort by our man Lewis all year. Texas only goes to show what would have, could have been, if things had been done a little differently at a few crucial points this season.

Don't know what this week, or the coming weeks are going to bring, but I'm extremely proud of what's been accomplished. And I'm extremely proud of him for standing up like a man and stepping off into the deep end, whatever the future holds.

After all the frustration has gone, after all the :banghead: is gone, all that's left is a bit of sadness that some people in power just don't get it yet; or if they do, they consciously work against it. Thus, we always seem to end up somewhere less than where we all should have been, and not just in racing terms.

I certainly think the two guys fighting for the title are more than worthy. I like them both a lot. But somehow the world always seems to offer up something just a little less than what we can visualize it being, and that makes me a little sad.

But anyway, a toast to the winners :drink: , a job well done to Lewis  , and a see-you-later :wavey: and a :wavey-finger: to McLaren. Not expecting much this week, but, man, am I looking forward to next year.

Peace.

Actual Marmite. The metaphor is a bit too out there for me.

:wavey-finger: to McLaren.

Yeah I am sure he will do that to the team that gave him his break in motorsport...
Lewis fans have a really short memory, then again the bandwagon's only been around since in 2007.

Im sure there will be a lot of emotion from all parties come Sunday night.

I'm sure there will be lots of emotion next Sunday, on both sides.
When the Truth said :wavey-finger: to Mclaren, I think he was expressing his own feelings regarding McLaren, not those of Lewis Hamilton...that's how I took it anyway.

The more you think about it, the more you can't blame McLaren's staff. It's just the direction they are heading as a corporation.

I started off saying it as a joke "McLaren exist to win individual races, not Championships", but realized recently that it is actually the truth. They have always been fast and fragile, except for 2007 and 2008 for some miracle or another. Fast and fragile cars win you races, but never championships. They have more to worry than winning championships, like making profits in their road car division and meeting sponsor commitments like making cartoons of their drivers to keep the business going. It's a business concept which keeps people talking about the race team every season, but it will always be the bridesmaid.

An article on forumula summed it up very well, "McLarens late season resurgence was typical in its sense, appearing only after the prettiest ladies had gone home with the prettiest boys". So telling. It's a good place for great drivers to start learning how to win races or for average drivers to help great drivers learn how to win races...but after a while you move along, like Kimi did and win WDCs. Drivers get conned (cant find a better word) into thinking this team is capable of challenging for Championships every year.....not at all the case. You may win races, but do look to move into a SERIOUS seat in 2 years or so being with the team, staying longer is simply wasting your talents and youth.

Utter nonsense Hammer! Ron in the same interview said there will be more championships in the future, which kind of counters the only win races claim.

Look you can have your petty and BITTER view of one of the greatest teams in the sports history. That's fine, come next year I cannot wait to hear you moan some more and the excuses you come up with about Mercedes. The only good thing about Lewis leaving McLaren is he will take his fanboys with him!

Good riddance! :cloud9:

Bud please stop calling people fanboys because they have a different view to you on Mclaren and support F1 in a different way to you.
