I have the impression that Mercedes have actually come along leaps and bounds with their programme, perhaps more so than any other team, Schumacher doing his full race run yesterday with consistent lap times, pit stops etc. The team will have gained a vast amount of knowledge on tyres, aero, rear wing adjustments, fuel loads and effect etc. Plus, they remained reliable. Seems like Rosberg is on a similar programme today. If they're doing this type of testing at this stage it says to me that they're satisfied with most of the individual components and are working on the package as a whole to tweak it.
I think there's a good chance that they're sandbagging, and come the first race could be right at the sharp end.
All just a hunch, and could be completely wrong, but it's a gut feeling I have.
I would like to point to the above - quoting myself from the last Barcelona tests on 19th February.... you heard it HERE first!!
