Two hours ago I looked up the number of laps, few seconds ago I gave myself an update and saw that Button managed just one lap compared to the 30 of Alonso and Barrichello. I thought, what the hell ...
But now I know the reason, cheers
Still utterly dissapointed by Mäcs mileage.

Hey everyone!

Neither McLaren or Red Bull have been out since lunch. Some teams have already done 100 laps. Red Bull have only done 33 and McLaren 38.

I know McLaren is doing a precautionary engine change, so I expect Jenson will be back out soon. But, does anyone know why Red Bull aren't out?

1423: Here comes Sebastian Vettel in his Red Bull.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 421547.stm

Fernando doing a race simulation, bbc reporting very consistent times,

Schumacher has posted a fast time, on a quali sim and Brawn sounded very positive
He believes the updated Mercedes which Schumacher set his top time in is 'a step forward' and 'quite encouraging'. Brawn also explained that Schumacher's time was 'fairly representive of qualifying' and that the team's programme on Friday was focused on testing the new front wing. Anything else? 'The drivers are giving us good feedback. The car is more consistent now, we are able to make changes to it that have an effect. Everything is moving in the right direction.'"

1438: Oh, he's lost it. Completely gone. Fernando Alonso follows a lap of 1:49... with a 1:56. The Spaniard is well and truly shot. Oh, no. Hold on. He's back on pace with a 1:27 next lap. Nice.

That scared me for a second there.

second RED FLAG of the day, caused by Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull sitting stationary at the exit of the pit-lane.

All is not well at redbull, or Vettel pressed the blow up random car component button again.

Thank god one of the Ferraris or Red Bulls arent totally untouchable! Consistent lap times- check, fastest one lap pace- check, flawless testing programmes- ch.......wait...... :hehe:

Nah, that Ferrari is looking blast proof. Nelson Piquet jnr himself would have a hard time wrecking it.

The engine wasn't, also had a dramatic tendency to produce brain freeze.

Interesting lookng at the testing so far. I have the impression that Mercedes have actually come along leaps and bounds with their programme, perhaps more so than any other team, Schumacher doing his full race run yesterday with consistent lap times, pit stops etc. The team will have gained a vast amount of knowledge on tyres, aero, rear wing adjustments, fuel loads and effect etc. Plus, they remained reliable. Seems like Rosberg is on a similar programme today. If they're doing this type of testing at this stage it says to me that they're satisfied with most of the individual components and are working on the package as a whole to tweak it.

I think there's a good chance that they're sandbagging, and come the first race could be right at the sharp end.

All just a hunch, and could be completely wrong, but it's a gut feeling I have.

I would like to point to the above - quoting myself from the last Barcelona tests on 19th February.... you heard it HERE first!! :D Why does nobody ever listen to me... :hehe:

So it's official  the 26 is shiite and cant do more than 6 laps at once. McLaren have been going backwards since 08.
2010 is exception only coz of F-duct,RB messing up and a non-existent Massa.

Looks like this year LH&JB will duke it out with the Saubers and Toro Rossos  if they're able to finish the race (IF)

Good day for Kovalainen in the Lotus i think!

Interesting to see both Webber and Vettel marking out Ferrari as the team to beat so far. Do they genuinely think that or are they deliberately being conservative? :scratchchin:

Seems flexi wings are back on the agenda too...

Apparently, the Ferrari's long-run pace is superior, which might be what the two are hinting at.

hmmm seems like Heikki made a good move after all :hehe::D

Oh they were at day 1... (almost) everybody had their tension bars and flex measuring devices on, so definitely they are going to the limit of the regs there.

So Vettel and Webber are BOTH saying Ferrari looks like the team to beat?
oh those :censored:. Its a team directive. They already know its them and they're messing with people.

ease up tiger, it was a far worse position in 09 testing for McLaren and look how that season turned out., the car that was poo, turned into a race winner. I wouldn't write them off before the season has already begun.
