It does. Football is in the Olympics and Maradona has been known to play football and the English are known to get excited about footbal, which happens to be in the olympics. :D

I don't know what happened in 66 and haven't been bothered to google it.

We won the world cup :D:D:D:D:D

You're telling me that England hasn't won the world cup since 1966?!?!

First and only time. And the famous shot on the crossbar shouldn't have counted as a goal as it didn't cross the goal line.

But the next one did? And if you're going down that route. Maradona hand of God????? Plus countless other similar examples???

Next one was a consequence of the 3rd one - who knows how it would have ended w/o the third goal?
And why bring up Maradona? Has nothing to do with 1966...

And none of this has anything to do with the Olympics.

And who brought 1966 up?

Don't know, but whoever it was should be banned. Instantly.

And who brought 1966 up?

A Scotsman! :hehe:

Anyway, this is all irrelevant to this thread indeed, but But Mo Farah isn't :) Scratch what i said about Wiggins before, Farah will get sports personality!

3rd in the medal table, very good :)

Vald or Andrew? From insistence that the London Olympics was poor, and the British simply always glorify things as an ad hoc to counter, and 1966 was cited as an example of that.

And the Scott's always come across as bitter when talking about sport, as they've never been very good at it.

Apart from curling.

Yeah, third excellent!!:clap: Who'd have thought it of a tiny little island :hehe: So many possibilities for sports personality. Farah, Ennis,Hoy, Trott(collapsed lung and asthma!!!and 2 golds! Now there's a story!!) . Who to choose? I still think it will be Wiggins because of the tour de France as well as the olympics.

I think LRW was referring to people called Scott rather than teh people of Scotland.

This chap was pretty handy in an F1 car as well:

Not me. Just pointin gout that there is more to Scotlands sporting achievements than curling and sectarian violence.
