Since when did i only have bad things to say about Hamilton? :nono::-?

The third option you're referring to is? Lewis?

I think many people supporting Jenson because he's Brit won't support Lewis for the same reason. :hehe:

yeah Lewis, totally blown as to what you mean though........Its suprising how many British fans dont like Lewis though. I can count Scotty, MOA, JensonB off the top of my head, that ive heard nothing but detrimental words about Lewis, not that theres ANYTHING wrong with it at all, most stuff i say on drivers i dont support isnt complimentary naturally, but youd think if your really good at something, as the UK is at motorsport youd cherish it,

Hey! What is this, January 2009? I don't trash talk Lewis! I consistently rank him one of the top three drivers on the grid, and I've time and again said between Jenson and Lewis McLaren have the best of both worlds in the driver spectrum.

What i mean to you all is that you dont go out of your way to compliment him, only when you have to admit what everyone knows at the risk of looking like a hater, ive said Alonso is THE best driver on the grid, but i dont care less about him. I just admit what i see but no more.

Same goes for Scottys reply, kind of missed the boat but im not suprised given i said you only say detrimental words, my apologies, i mean what i just said, you admit what has to be admitted. No more. Everyones got their own agenda bar nobody. What my actual point if we can return to that, is that you all have a vested interest in:

a) sticking up for a fellow countrymen
b) sticking up for a talented driver if hes clearly receiving more flak then deserves.

But yet interestingly you dont. NOT THAT YOU SHOULD, but its rare.

I feel I am as patroitic as anyone, and very proud to be British. I support MercedesGP because they began life as the Tyrrell team, based in Surrey England, and I have stuck with the same team through all it's changes. The fact they got bought out by American, Japanese, and now a German company doesn't mean I'm about to dump them.

Williams, always.

Kobayashi, Rosberg & Mercedes (NOT SCHUMACHER THOUGH) & whoever drives for Williams, unless it's Nakajima because he was poo.

Country? Italians, I'm not fond of, if they are French I automatically hate them. Not that keen on Germans, or Americans.

I'm a massive bigot so I like who I like & hate who I hate.

I'm not remotely French but what have they done to you? By the sounds of it you dont seem to like anyone else either.

Did you hear about the lumberjack that's had the same axe for 25 years? He's changed the head twice and the handle three times, but he's been using that axe for 25 years. :D

Don't see why I should support someone because their from a certain country.

Like supporting the overarching network of a team rather than an individual driver, a lot more going on there, though drivers can still capture my interest and admiration of course.

By support though, I try and limit it to simply taking an interest in certain teams/drivers more than others, all teams and drivers that compete within the rules have an equal right to win IMO. Can't say I always stay true to that, sometimes (probably more than that) stuff pisses me off emotionally. But best not to go into why we feel "irrational" cultural attachment eh? (Unless someone's got a definitive answer)

It seems as if every country that surrounds Italy would be on the list but self professed massive bigots likely won't take the time to list ALL of the nationalities they hate, because the list would simply be too long.

Because it's so rare a driver from my country gets to F1 (I've only witnessed it once so far), it feels silly not to root for them. But if it were common, I don't know if I'd do it...

I just go for the hottest driver...Kidding!!

I've never been very patriotic, probably due to the fact that I've spent three decades of my life on three different continents. I tend to gravitate towards drivers that I initially dislike, and then develop a grudging respect for. I used to hate Schuey, until he went and got himself stuck in third gear and still managed to do well in whatever GP that was (I'm really bad at remembering specific GP's). Likewise with Alonso, I use to hate the bugger, then he went ahead and did whatever it was that gained my respect. Have no clue what it was but one day he was persona non grata, the next, I loved his bottom.

That being said, here is my perfect GP finish:

1. Lewey
2. Alonso
3. Kubica
4. Jenson
5. Webber
6. Rubens
7. Quick Nick
8. Schuey
9. Chandhok
10. Bruno

What's your perfect top ten??

Personally I root for ingenuity, perseverance, innovation, and heart. Underdogs are always fun to root for, but a great performance is something worth while seeing, whether you're a fan of the team/driver or not. Nationality would play a very small factor if at all. That being said if there was an American driver or team on the grid I'd root for them if they had the qualities I look for.

I'd want them to do well in order to grow the sport stateside, but not if they didn't have some of all of the qualities I listed.
