Man...F**k Ferrari, seriously. What makes them think this kind of thing is cool? It's like they're going out of their way to come across as arrogant d**ks

Imagine that, a guy in a ferrari being a arrogant d**k... JK

Interesting seeing the unbridled Ferrari-hatred starting to flow so freely.

I don't know if its because of their on-track performance over the past few races or because, deep-down, posters wished the ones they supported had such a strong "team first" ethos.

For me, I love hearing Ferrari's leaders saying "Those who race for Ferrari don't race for themselves, but for the Ferrari team colours".

When I compare that to a driver saying he can't be happy about seeing his team-mate on the podium with him, or saying he wont do anything to help him - well, win or lose, that's why I love those red cars.

Forza Ferrari!

Deep down i like Ferrari, if i was ever in F1 despite suporting Mclaren all my F1 life, id aim to race in red, there is something about Ferrari that the other teams just dont have, is just rivalry to me as far as im concerned. That saaaiidd....the part i bolded is a bit rich considering Ferrari now have one of those drivers lol. (if you dont understand what i mean i mean Alonso-Hamilton 2007).

I just don't agree with your assessment of 2007, but, irrespective, my concern is he understands Ferrari's ethos and he complies. If he does, he can share in our success.
As I said, Forza Ferrari!

A very simple but very true statement. Deep down we all like Ferrari, whether you're cheering for them or against them they are the ones to shoot for, they are the benchmark and and the foundation. To say that you've gone head to head with Ferrari and beaten them is the only thing that's better for the business than seeing Ferrari win. As far as I'm concerned, their only weakness is the belief they can do no wrong.

I do not dislike the Ferrari team or there cars (street and F1)

They are a different kind of team and have a differnet mentality

I see no problem with there statement to massa. After all he does "work" for Ferrari

No Ferrari hatered here

Massa 'urged', so what was the team radio thing then? And what does this recent urging consist of?

He's urged to win the title.

No hes not. He's forbidden from trying.

Guess the bottom line here is that Massa must be happy with the situation or else he wouldn't have signed new contracts with Ferrari, maybe he will get fed up like Rubens did and leave Ferrari but as things stand he seems to be happy with the situation, maybe he doesn't consider himself a championship contender so would rather drive as a #2 for a top team than drive for a lower ranked team like Williams or Renault?

He's probably going to give it a real go next year, and if he ends up No.2 again either accept it, or just leave.

Massa has been #2 since 2006,

Fixed.

I seem to recall Kimi being #2 near the end of 2008. That would make Massa what then?

OMG you people have no sense of humour!

Team first, not driver-A, not driver-B. Any driver that doesn't accept that has to answer to the team, end of!

As long as you refuse to accept there is any "team" concept in F1, you will never be able to understand Ferrari.

I love it, Forza Ferrari :)

I don't think we've seen the best of Felipe this year, and I think and hope he can do much better next year. But, because he's part of a team, he can still contribute to the team winning and play his role in that.

A champion team will beat a team of champions

Forza Ferrari! Forza Felipe!

No I recognise the team element, I recognise the WCC. There is also a WDC.

If you watched the moto GP and witnessed Rosii against Lorenzo (same team) then you'll understand. Now that was a RACE!

OK, I can understand that to you, the prime objective is an end of year award for a particular driver. That's fine and dandy by me.

But, for me, I agree with what Ferrari wants. Their first and prime object is, at each race, to win that race. After Ferrari has secured the win, they have a second objective of bringing the other car home in second place. At Ferrari, both drivers know this and must accept it, or, in LDM's words, they must face the team. It's that simple. We are team first and foremost. Always have been, and, hopefully always will be.

If we can achieve our prime objectives often enough and can get the WCC and/or the WDC at the end of year, then that's great, but it doesn't change our prime objectives.

Yes, there is a WDC. And you know what... Massa is out of it. He was out of it in Germany, and Alonso was POSSIBLY in it. And this is not just you and i discussing this. THE WHOLE PADDOCK KNEW THAT. Including Ferrari management.
Hence ferrari made the decision. As a result now Alonso has some posibilities, and Massa is still out of it.

Dislike what you want about it... makes perfect sense.
