Yes the drivers themselves have made a lot of errors, but that doesn't mean the reliability issues diddn't happen.

1. Crashing with Webber (50-50).
2. Getting the penalty at Hungary.
3. There was a puncture you will all mention, but this was caused by Lewis on his 3rd attempt to take Vettel out.

2. Not giving the place back to Kubica
3. Crashing in Monaco practice

1. Crashing in Catalunya was it? some race when he was 2nd or 3rd and crashed out

3. Clipping his wing with Vettel in Valencia? 50% because its meaningfulness was saved by passing the SC (legal or not, doesnt matter).

Webber 50/50 at fault with Vettel?? He was driving in a straight line Vetterl went to pass him and caused collision. Heaven forbid if you ever work for an insurance agency.....

yes, you're right. It was not spain, that one was was a tire failing... but there was one race at the beggining where Lewis was 2nd or something and crashed out... i REALLY dont remember which race it was.

Webber and Vettel were more or less both at fault. More fault to Vettel, but you could say both could have done something to avoid the collision... same with the Alonso/Kubica pass: if Alonso had kept his position Kubica would have taken them out. So: 50-50.

My memory is hazy at best due to years of alcohol abuse but i cant remember Lewis crashing out in 2nd other than Spains tyre failure.
difference is where a car behind goes to overtake the car in front they are instigating a move and any repercussions that eventuate! I know its probably still ingraved in your brain that Alonso was in the right at Silvestone but in all reality Alonso had himself to blame for his over enthusiastic move on Kubica. Same can be said for Vettel trying his move on Webber!

There was one time he did crash out, he was pushing to catch either Webber or Vettel...

I'm not saying either was right or wrong by an over enthusiastic move... BUT Alonso avoided the collision, and Webber didnt. If i were an insurance company, and a guy comes up with 5 episodes like Webber's; or like Kubica's had him and Alonso crahsed: i'd increase his prime

Dude...Alonsos practice crash affected his qualifying didn't it. That's pretty major I'd say. He couldn't afford that, Lewis could afford a crash in practice when it didn't hamper his entire weekend.

And clipping his wing....again, it didn't affect him in the race. Yes, he was fortunate, but he could afford that.

Its like saying Jenson slipped up in Melbourne when he was being overtaken left and right even though he won the race, due to diving into the pits to change tyres!

Not quite the same, there's a difference between it not effecting you due to factors out side your control and Jenon's situation which he called himself.

Still, I don't like all this over emphasie on drivers anyway, its a team sport - driver and the car, they both need it each other.
