I dont know whether to pass this off as a covert sympathy for schumacher thread or an attempt to make oneself feel reassured, but as the year has gone on hehas got closer and closer to rosberg, who not only has had no gaps in his f1 career as oppose to three years for schumi, but is a future wdc contender. Schumacher will be back next season, if he isnt im wrong, but he will, and i will bide my time and buy some humble pies for the forum.

Each year he suffers through another mediocre season is another layer of tarnish applied to his reputation. He needs be made redundant while his fans still remember him for the dominant driver he was, and not like some punch-drunk old prizefighter who kissed the canvas once too often.

Why does everyone worry so much about him tarnishing his reputation? If Michael is not worried about his established reputation why do yall?

Maybe Michael has been dain bramaged by too many shunts and too much exhaust fumes. At least one (2x) WDC agrees with my sentiment:

Hakkinen: Schumacher is 'dismantling his own legacy'

Retraction followed right after:

Mika Hakkinen has denied calling Michael Schumacher a 'tragic ex-hero' after the newspaper attributing the comments to him apologised.

This week, the Finn was quoted by Munich newspaper TZ as saying Michael Schumacher had made "a ridiculous mistake" at the start of the recent Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and should retire immediately.

TZ has now issued an apology and correction, admitting that the column had not been authorised by double world champion Hakkinen.

"The statements attributed to Mr Hakkinen, particularly in relation to Michael Schumacher, were not true and were not authorised. We regret this and apologise to our readers, to Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher, and as a consequence we are no longer working with the staff member concerned."

Analysing Mercedes' season, Rosberg was generally in the top ten or nowhere while Schumacher was generally at the top end of the midfield or nowhere. Qualifying 14-5 to Rosberg, races 14-5 to Rosberg; reminiscent of a No.1/No.2 driver situation in an upper-midfield car. I don't think Michael can be happy with his performance, even for his first year back. He outqualified Rosberg in the last two races but acknowledged that Nico was faster in Brazil and slid out at Abu Dhabi as his teammate was passing him.

I agree that both drivers will be in contention in 2011 if Brawn delivers a top-running car but it's still Rosberg who's going to be taking the fight to the established teams.

Kudos simply because you did not attack me as 'one who is either out of their realm of thinking because I'm not Engrish and I'm too old and I have no common sense because I have a different opinion and support the wrong team' . Maybe we should talk about Lewis and flood this topic? :hehe:
