I'm 16 at this present moment and have been watching F1 probably even longer than 10 years because I much preffered it to football but I was probably 7 till I actually followed it learning the team names, driver names which nationality they were and things like that. I supported McLaren because firstly they were British and they had Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard of whom I've become to dislike to a certain extent because of his joint presentation of the coverage on the bbc.

Geez, am I the only +30 yrs?

Yes. You are very old.

So, when did I start watching F1... i think from the late 80's. Around the times of Senna and Prost.
Stopped a little bit after Senna passed, but did watched some races from Schumacher's early championships, then again when Villeneuve came from indycar. And also a little bit when Schumacher started in Ferrari and the early domination yrs. But then stopped again when it was pretty much obvious he was always going to win. Although I think also i was very busy with other stuff at that time, and was often in no 'mood' to wake up at 7am on a sunday morning. But i did watch some of the domination era...

Then more or less retook it again after there was good competition to Schumacher and Ferrari. Now I watch it a bit more becasue there is very good competition... and although the constant rule changing and irregularity of the race and penalties is far from ideal. I dont really care too much about the overtaking buzz.... overtaking is good to see, but its difficult. And it should be. Although i would like for F1 cars to allow a bit more contact at least at slow speeds. They are simply too fragile.

Since 1999, so i was..... 6 and a half. I remember Eddie Irvine winning the Aus GP after Schumacher started from the back of the grid. I dunno about other people but ever since then I've had a soft spot for Irvine, due to being my first race I actually followed with interest. That season I also remember staying up to early hours of the morning watching races with my dad. Heinz-Harald Frentzen winning in Italy is also a good memory I have for some reason.

The earliest memory I have of F1 is however seeing "a red car going really fast and beating everybody then running out of fuel," me watching an earlier race before 1999 again with my old man.

Probably something around 1999 when I began. I remember watching Gene and Badoer trying to qualify with their Minardis. Sadly to end up nearly most time at the back of the pack. Just the Arrows at `99 were also crap so sometimes Pedro de La Rosa or Takagi were their opponents. Yea, I was a fan of Gene, Badoer, Diniz, Wurz, de La Rosa, Verstappen, a bit Herbert.

Then I really well remember Mr. Schumacher crashing at Stowe in Silverstone and Hill wawing him ir something. So since then every race, unless I`ve got some black spots in my memory, I do not remember being unconscious before any of the race or afterwards so I should be fine.

So some 11 years; I can`t guarantee though that I didn`t see a single 98 race, but 99 was when I became a regular.

Seeing things straight? You are unlikely to do that if you have a favorite driver. So thats how it`s been for me.

I have been a fan of F1 since last season, but I've known about it for years.
My dad is a big fan of it, so sometimes I would be in the room while it was on TV and I would watch a little bit, then go play with my Barbie dolls or read a book about George Washington because I thought racing a car was quite pointless and there was no glitter or pink cars with kittens, etc. But I knew about Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, blahblahblah... I actually thought Fernando Alonso was really good-looking... name some other people and I bet I knew 'em when I was a little girl. I knew about the different teams and drivers but I thought it was ridiculously boring.

Thats a bit like my previous opinions of the racing sport. Some people in our family watched racing such as Ralli or Formula1.I found them boring and these sports were for men.Actually,i disliked sports except swimming since i could play with the water. One day a friend of me told that she watched Formula 1 in Istanbul Park with her dad.She said it was so much fun.I started to find in a bit interesting but still i thought that it wasnt for me.One day when we were in our car i was listening to radio, they were talking about Formula1 race in Istanbul.Speaker was saying:'...Such a nice atmosphere.Everyone is having fun...' I thought:'Maybe this sport isnt that boring' Then i asked some questions to my dad about Formula1 he told me about some racers(Massa,Alonso,Hamilton)I tried to watch the races but i missed them.First time i watched a race was Turkish GP 2009(Finally i had the chance of not missing a race) and i found it really enjoying. And another similar experience with suitecase is that i find one of the racers(i mean Sebastian Vettel) really handsome which made me enjoy races even more :D

Thats my story.I will follow Formula1 for many years and never forget that
