There's about 10 weeks till the race and yet I know little about it. There's next to no pics of the track (which could be because of laws about photo uploading in Korea) and there's little released about the actual circuit; predicted lap times, no. of laps, schedules. I beleive the race will take place, but I for one couldn't care less about it, except if the race is good.

And the location itself is like the old Aida track, miles from anywhere with no accomodation

With the constant tensions between these two countries, why do they want to be known as the North and South of the one name? Somehow I don't think they'll ever be united (were they ever united ie known just simply as Korea?)

If Bernie wants a race with the word South in it, then just bring it back to South Australia. Adelaide had some of the best races and greatest atmosphere ever scene at an F1 event, just look at 86, 90, 92 & 94. And 2 races in the land of Oz, well why not? Its a bloody big country haha

*thinks back to history lessons*

They were united, but around the 1950s I think they had a revolution, the North became communist backed by the Soviet Union, whilst the south was supposedly democratic (or was it American backed part of Vietnam that was ruled as a dictatorship, I forgot) backed by the US. I'm not sure what else they could call them, apart from North and South Korea, I suppose however both aspire to a united Korea so therefore both want to keep the name, and they both want the right to be considered Korean.

I think they'd rather be considered Corean. Japan had something to do with the change of first letter so that K(C)orea wouldn't precede them at the Olympics. Korea or Corea, the likelihood of the race going ahead looks rather dodgy.

Korea competed as a single nation at the Sydney 2000 Olympics

The Clipsal 500 sort of makes up for that but it'll never replace F1. I'm looking outside the window at the city and seeing the planes fly over and hearing the roar of F1 engines and a 200,000 crowd

I am really looking forward to this track. It looks like it is going to really test the limits of the car and driver with all those high g-force turns, slow turns and long straights. It's really like spa as they say.

This is the South we are talking about. Not the communist north. There are no laws about photo uploading. Its as free of a country as your own.

I'm actually happy there is a race in South Korea so that people like you can learn about new places and different cultures.

i hope it goes ahead, but it would be a big embarssment if the race didnt go ahead and then have a huge gap between suzuka and interlargos

So at t-100 days the track still hadn't been laid. I don't know how many days are left now, but that is a really, really bad sign...

How long does it take to lay down a track? A week?

The actual racing surface will be ready and that's all that matters right? :D I mean we don't need painted buildings and fancy VIP rooms to hold a race? I will watch it if only the racing surface and the essentials like the radio tower are complete.
