I'm not too worried about getting shot in Nottingham, I live in the sexual assault capital of Europe and incidences of male **** outnumber heterosexual **** in my area of Leicester.
Nope, it's the trams. I'm just terrified of trams...

Stop being such a smug car driver. Some of us have no choice but to take public transport! :( Stupid congestion charge and lack of parking space...

ooo '****' is filtered! you learn something everyday!

i like trains, and i like buses, but trams are just some kind of diabolical combination of the two! they're just too damned ambiguous! they freak me out...

Right, i guess that's Leicester done and dusted then! :hehe: The trams aren't too bad, certainly in the area where a potential meetup would be. I seem to remember they all have closed front ends now so you'd just be the victim of a comical bowling pin-esque incident rather than a brutal hit and run, should you get hit by one...

Yeh but thats London, Manchester Public Transport isn't great.

Buses are terrible, Trains are always packed and late. and the Trams only run every 12mins so if you miss your tram your waiting on a cold platform for ages.

The tube is fantasitc comparativly.

I'm curious as to why there are issues with having the get together at someones flat? All I read is "I'm not going there (pub or city) or I'm not gonna be a "host" for what ever reason and the plot is being lost :banghead: . If I had this opportunity to host a forum event/get together at my place I would not hesitate and have offered my house numerous times for such an occasion or a visitation from a forum member.

I hope this event takes place as it would be a blast imho  ,

Not to mention the cost, and perhaps some people don't want 20 strangers in there place..

Well I hope it works out for the best regardless of all the personal issues. :)

What the hell is your problem? It doesn't affect you in the slightest, so step off... :beans:

Okay, the poll has a couple of days to go - we'll go with whichever gets most votes out of Birmingham, Manchester and London.

End of. :)

And Gaz, excellent point on the size of american house vs size of UK house. Plus there's the point that if someone dodgy turns up after you've publicised your address on a public forum, in the US you can just shoot them. In the UK we'd have to politely entertain them while hoping they don't turn nasty... :hehe:
