To the OP, LoL, I like your style dude.

I'm about to purchase, in the next 5 days, Loewe Flatscreen telly, 56"

Rotel THX Amplification & Surround processing.

Miller & Kriesel THX Speakers.

Digital PVR box to record every moment Schumacher is on air.

Fiance and I just purchased a flat in London and we put a home theatre on the mortgage :-)

I'm so excited I try not to think about it.

First thing you need to do with the surround system is play F1 on the PS3, you can hear Micheal Shumacher coming up from your left and Mass is pressing you from the right :D

Ah the great question. X-Box or PS3? I'm gimping out for grand tourismo 5 but my best mate is trying to convince me all the real racers are now on Forza Motorsport on the XBox. I don't know what to do.

Its a simple question, do you love F1? If so then its only on the PS3 and the 2010 F1 is exclusively to the PS3 only, Xbox 360 is great, especially with Forza but why would you want to play games in 720p? while you can play in 1080p on your new theater system with GT5 coming?

Psst, F1 game isn't a a PS3 exclusive. F1 2010 comes out on Xbox, PS3 and PC, sometime this year.

GT5 is probably a more robust package. It would need to be with the amount of work gone into it. The problem is, since GT4 was released. Forza have made 3 games. You could buy GT5, but it could be the only thing you play for another 5 years, whilst the Forza community are treated to at least 2 new games.

At the moment PS3 has F1 (2006 season) and 360 has no F1. F1 2010 coming to both consoles as well as PC some time later this year from codemasters, they've been very secretive so far and there's not so much as an in game screenshot so no one knows what they're going to come out with, arcade racer or serious sim?

360 has Forza3 and PS3 is still waiting on GT5 (rumours seem to point towards the end of this year). I've heard that Forza3 is kind of unfinished and has bugs that they've tried to patch and some other problems like permanent driver aids or is lacking in places like online play. We'll have to wait to see what GT5 turns out like but I reckon with 5 years of development from PD that Forza3 won't really be much competition for it, but that's just my opinion.

I don't know about the 360 but a lot of games on the PS3 are 720p and upscaled, as I think GT5 will be.

My mate used that in his argument that Forza releases are better then GT. I don't care, let them take 5 years if they are making the game better.

I have a real emotional attachment to the PlayStation from the first Grand Tourismo on the PS1, I called in sick for 2 weeks at work to get all my licences in Gold because I read there were special cars unlocked. Deep Forest, Reverse, Mitsubishi FTO, Happy times

I've been out of the gaming scene for 10 years because I don't know how to play games casually, when I get stuck in they consume my every waking moment.

But with a THX home Theatre coming I'm gonna jump back in, it will have to be a PS3 based on the comments so far.

Thanks Fellas.

This year I'll be watching the races on 107" 1080P front projection, on a local network's 720P feed (I know, F1 isn't in HD, but the feed is cleaner than normal PAL) - I'll be a neutral supported with a small bias towards people driving "from the heart" - this year that will be kobayashi & alonso I suppose. I think now with the "old man" back in F1, I think Alesi should make a return also :hehe: - but that's just my very subjective nostalgia talking. ^^

Sound will be surround over a 5.1 full B&W Nautilus setup (not that it matters for F1), but for that I switch to BBC which put out the stereo sound correctly - the local network overlays the dutch commentary with a mono sound :(

So it's always choosing between a nice picture quality and shitty comments, or the BBC's feed :)
