:hehe: I knew there was a connection. I apologize if I came across as sounding condesending or self-righteous with my reply to DD's last encounter. My only intent was to offer another opinion from a law enforcement perspective and I would truelly hate to see anyone here pay the ultimate cost for a simple lack in judgement.

My sugarbear means too much to me so I tend to protest occasionally :) ,

It is funny to know that new that Speeding ticket and other offenses can already paid by Credit Card. I don't think it will work because it is a long process before the Police or the Traffic enforcer will able to get the payment of the offense to the credit card company. I advice that next time that a uniform officer will stop you to a road offense and told you that you can pay it by your credit card don't believe it.

I have worked with cops in a job fixing traffic signals, and they have told me once or twice that they get bored and pull over pretty girls just so they can get close and talk, find out if they can get a date etc. One cop I knew was a notorious lothario, and besides that most married cops cheat on their sposes and most get divorced and marry each other and repeat the process untill all permutations are exhausted, just like on Melrose Place.

Those are not 'true' police officers they are mearly imho paycheck hounds. If you had any idea of the numerous number of beautiful women I deal with on a daily basis and hot attorneys you would call me stupid for not being the dawg you portray peace officers to be in your previous post.

The opportunities for nookie are 100x's greater in a uniform but to disrespect your position and responsibilty is a disgrace imho.

With the technology available to the overwhelming majority of municipalities today. Police officers via mobile wireless data terminals can do everything in their cruiser they can do at the station (although they still need to go pee at a DD) So running a credit card and getting instant approval authorization is not a problem. I have implemented solutions for police departments that stream video and audio from the police car to the station in real time during a traffic stop.

As a matter of fact a mounted police officer can run your driver's license or license plate on his Blackberry without dismounting. :D

Tex did say chances are 100x greater while wearing a uniform... Imagine what the increase would be when you bring a horse into the equation!?!?

Welcome to Toronto.

Well in all fairness these are the guys that do traffic so it says nothing about the other guys. I was getting it right from their own mouths. They were pay duty for us so I'm sure they were money hounds. In fact, at the time there was an investigation going on about some who made disproportionately high amounts of their income from pay duty.
The relationships with women could for all I know have been legitimate, private and not in violation of any code of conduct. But they get more of them that everyone else, and cops do have a very high divorce rate.

I was married to a police officer for ten years, guess why we're still not together :D It happened with most of his squad mates too.

Being married to a police officer does make you realise what an amazingly stressful job it is though. I have so much respect for any type of law enforcement. also, my ex and I are the best of friends now that all the yukky stuff has been dealt with!

Not to condone what i did but I got done speeding in my GTR, I got pulled over by an unmarked police car after coming out of a corner and flooring it up to about 100kh in a 60kh zone I thought I was screwed, 40kays above the limit is a likely loss of licence but he only gave me a ticket for doing 70kh. A $100 fine...I did not argue the point thats for sure!
