It's close, but Ferrari has the best lineup. Massa and Alonso have proven they can both consistently be good drivers. There are some questions on how Button will perform at Mclaren, and how Rosberg and Schumi will do at Mercedes. Alonso and Massa have nothing to prove.

Red Bull followed by Mercedes. McLaren a close 3rd

Rosberg is set for his best season and his with Schumi (says it all)

Vettel is going to have another crack at the title and Webber set to build on last year (possible 2nd place)

McLaren needs to have a good car. But if they do Lewis will be up there again and Button will be right behind him, however I dont think he'll be good as 09

While Ferrari, they've got a guy who only thinks about himself and not the team (Alonso) and they have a good driver but hasn't raced in a long time now. And the 2 drivers dont exactly like each other.

:hehe: We all know where Lewis will finish next year anyway. In 21st place overall.

Remember how Lewis is just like Jacques Villeneuve. Stuck it to his team-mate in only his first season, but just lost the championship at the last race. Won the World Championship in his 2nd year. 3rd year the car isn't as good and he finished 5th in the championship. Check it, they've had almost identical F1 careers so far. In Jacques 4th year he finished 21st after constant retirements.

You know it'll happen :hehe:

Oh the Mclaren conspiracyist minds!! were you trying to vote twice? c'mon you know you're not allowed to cheat here.... :hehe:

The scariest pairing is Alonso and Massa. Massa has the team behind him and I would assume be favored. Alonso, although given strict orders to be a team player, is.. volatile. I may be wrong but his behavior in the past leads me to believe if he doesn't get his way, then someone will pay. The goo never sticks to him, but somehow he is always surrounded by it. Alonso is most likely the best driver in the field (arguably). I believe he can outdrive Massa. However, if team politics and distractions occur, I see a 2007 repeat..

I dont think Massa will have the team behind him in an unfair way, he's got some advantage right now in that he's proven he's a team player and has a relationship with the team already, but Ferrari made a big enough effort to get Alonso. I doubt they'd go through all that trouble just to be unsupportive.

Everyone knows Alonso AND Massa will drive for themselves until there is a bigger need for the team, and they'll negotiate then. The best about it all is that i believe no one will settle for anything less than being given the best opportunity to win... as long as they dont take eachother out in a move, everything will be cool....

One thing i'm sure everyone will favour is to have NO CONTROVERSIES for 2010!! :irked:

And now for my serious post, I think Ferrari's line-up is the strongest. If Sauber keep hold of Heidfeld I wouldn't discount them, nor Williams now they have Rubens as No. 1 driver and the potential which Hulkenberg comes with.

Hey Crosswing - you stole my avatar picture!!! I've had that for 15 months here!!

On topic again, I think there's two possible ways to look at who is the strongest driver pairing. If you're talking about the most talented two drivers then I think it's likely going to be between Alonso / Massa or Hamilton / Button. But we don't know if those pairings will work as a team or not yet. They could both work out great, or could both be a disaster.

I've looked at it purely as who is likely to be the best team as in who can work best together as a team in a variety of situations and circumstances and as such had to go for Vettel / Webber as they're now tried and tested, have shown that they can co-exist in a team, both win races and given the right car are both extremely fast and competitive. I'll change my mind if and when another of the given pairings shows the same.

For the championship everyone has forgot about the Red Bulls and Rosberg.

I voted for the Red Bull pair. As for Schumacher / Rosberg, personally I'd say they're the dark horses of the pairings mentioned, purely as (assuming the car is competitive) most are assuming Schumacher will be fast, we don't really know how fast until after the first race or two have passed. I suspect it'll be like he never left, but I could be wrong and I'm sure others have other ideas. As for Rosberg, this will be his first year in a really top car (no offence to Williams but it's a good 5 or 6 years since they were regularly front-end of the grid), and as such is still a relatively unknown quantity in many peoples eyes. Again, I think personally that he could be a race winner quite quickly, but others likely will disagree....

As a paring they have the potential to be excellent, but at the moment that's all it is - potential.
