It's good, 90% of the people ive seen comment on posts about this have all said its rubbish & should go back to the old way or the even older 6 points positions. which just isnt fair. You have to give the small guys something to aim for, otherwise they're going to end up bankrupt with no sponsors.

Also what ive seen people say is go back to the old 6 points positions that way drivers will push for places rather than settle of minimum points. Which to me is the absolute opposite of what they actually do! They're always pushing, they rarely settle for positions. When they do settle its when they're 12 seconds behind with like 5 laps left!

Seriously, are these people fans of F1 or just casual haters? haha

They're NOT pushing all the time - and for good reasons! Car and tire management for example. It'll be even more the case with the refueling ban. So, this new system may hopefully counter that tendency a little bit, but I don't hold my breath...

Yes, go back to the 6 positions! And go back and change all of the previous championships to reflect these points.

That will shut Piquet's mouth. He would've only finished in the points 3 times.

Although to be fair some good results came from the 6 posiions scoring.
Makes it sweeter when you finally get in.
Plus there much less points scorers in the season.

This points system kinda reminds me of the old "Jim Clark Trophy" system which I truelly enjoyed.

I think the new point system is the best one yet in formula 1. It rewards consistency but the top finishers get a pretty good advantage over those who finish in the lesser point scoring positions.

Seriously, nothing to complain about. The championship battle will remain as exciting as ever but the mid-packers are given a bit more to fight for as well.

 Precisely.

Prediction: The 2010 WDC will have around 250 Points (Margin of error ±25)

Well, basic maths will tell you that much (when looking at last 5 years).

Well, that's exactly what I did, isn't it?

Technically, it's more likely to be 275ish owing to the 19 races.
