think its a case of treating Hekki as equally as possible.

I am sure Ferrari would say that about the Schumacher era.

I want to see what Kovy is like against an average driver on the grid.

Guess we'll find out next year. Unless the Hamiltons can apply that much pressure and McLaren roll over for them.

McLaren Fan, I think you are being overly harsh on Lewis Hamilton, he took on and beat a double world champion in 2007 in his rookie season. In 2008 Heikki Kovalainen was hardly a challenge for Hamilton, whoever goes to McLaren, be it Raikkonen, Heidfeld or Button I'm sure that Lewis will be able to compete with them. I'm not particularly a fan of Lewis Hamilton, I prefer Button to Hamilton personally. I believe that Hamilton doesn't give a rats bottom about who his team mate is; he just wants to beat him!

Some of his comments on Raikkonen potentially being his team-mate seem to suggest otherwise.

I'm sorry i respectfully disagree this is nothing like the Ferrari era.

If you have a limited number of parts you give them to the best option to win the race - Lewis.

Monza they had equal cars they put Lewis on a short strategy and Hekki on a long stint which proved to be the winning strategy and he went backwards from the start.

Perhaps though as you suggest Hekki is having trouble with the fact he's in the shadow of Lewis Hamilton - but F1 is all about pressure and if you can't cope with it well that's not the teams fault its yours as the driver.

What's comments are they? I haven't seen too much about those comments you mention; I've been busy with other things so haven't kept up with developments!

If Hamilton does not mind too much who his teammate is, why is his father and he pushing backstage for a non-entity like Kovalainen to remain in the second McLaren seat? (Both want Kovalainen to stay.)

And who wouldn't want a crap teammate? The focus is on you so you can push more and have better results. Every single driver would want more attention on them than their teammate. It's logical that Lewis is pushing for WDC and doesen't care so much about WCC, why should he?

I'm not really criticising Hamilton (though I don't like his duplicity). Rather, I trying to get through to Hamilton's acolytes that he is not the guy they think he is.

Most likely he isn't such as nice guy as it seems and that makes sense to me. If he would run his mouth in the media and tell what's on his mind it would have a negative effect on him. No one wants to be in the center of attention. Every champion's ego is a little bit too big and is a bit too confident.

Indeed. Besides according to qualifying today his Girlfriend has the hots for Jonathan Legard :P

Frankly Anthony Hamilton needs to butt out of Lewis' affairs, maybe he's scared of losing his meal ticket. I dislike fathers getting involved, they have no place in a F1 garage!

I am not saying that you should not do the the best for the team and giving them to lewis is the better idea in this case. I do also agree that he has a problem with his race pace. Why has this shown more this year than last year? god knows.

I McLaren turning into a Ferrari/Schumacher system. I think so. Not even sure if they have realised it themselves yet. Think about it, Dave Ryan (think that was his name) fell on his sword after lie gate, Lewis distanced himself from his own lie, and got away likely. Then Ron fell on his sword as well for the same thing (a lot of people think the little chat between Daddy and Max did not help Rons corner) So Mclaren is built around Hamilton and will do anything to protect him.

He has another girlfriend? Or is Nicole on the rebound?

Oh Nicole and Lewster are still together. She was there today.

Unless of course she's with Ant now? I always suspected that. :hehe:

I would go further. Hamilton is an employee of McLaren, and his father has nothing to do with the team. He should content himself with the free giblets he gets in the Brand Centre each race. Obviously, Hamilton, as a talented driver and team member, should have his opinion heard. But he has no business interfering with the decisions made at board level. The truth be told, sometimes I have been getting frustrated with McLaren since 2007. It seems as though the team is always tip-toeing around Hamilton. This is not acceptable.
