Think of all the money the other F1 teams spent to race in Singapore just to get cheated... Renault should have been heavily fined.

Other than that, the punishment fits the crime.

Renault got a lighter sentence because they got rid of Briatore and Symonds which is a bit of a joke. They deserved a far harsher punishment than a 2 year suspended ban.

I disagree. If they could prove that only Briatore, Symonds and Piquet knew anything, and all three are out of the team, then it's fair to get the punishment they received. Take a look at McLaren earlier in the year, by removing Dave Ryan they got off with a lighter sentence.

How would you have punished them?

I'm glad to see that Briatore is out permanently, not sure on Symonds. Do we know how much was revealed during the hearing? And how much of that has found its way to us?

I imagine it would be the same as what was given to McLaren, and any action that brings the sport in to disrepute will result in the ban being imposed.

Only Webber is confirmed for next year as well. Kovy and Grosjean might be in trouble. I think Alonso will already have a deal and contingency plan in place.
