We're hearing rumours that David Richards is on the verge of being announced as the new Renault team boss.

The Prodrive boss, who missed out on entering F1 with his own team in this year's selection process, is understood to have attended a meeting at Enstone this afternoon, just hours after the French team announced that Flavio Briatore had been fired.

Richards, who spent a couple of seasons as team boss at BAR, leaving when Honda bought the Brackley team, had previously enjoyed success with Benetton, which was to become Renault in 2000.

We must stress, there is absolutely no official confirmation of this story, but it does come from a good source.

i guess this would signal the end of a possible prodrive team if he moved to renault

Latest news is that it's going to be verrryyyy smokey at Singapore.

Apparantly I was reading that there will be a very visible smoke haze at night throughout the city.
The problem is caused by scrub fires and forest clearing in Indonesia.

Oh dear.

So far the haze been minimal. Earlier this year you could smell and see it for a few weeks. This morning news papers wrote about it, but I didn't really notice any real difference. Anyway it's unlikely to have a big impact, a rain shower would make a bigger impact on the race for sure. And those are likely to come any day around the year.

Surely with a brawn 1-2 in the last race this could be a good bet
