Wurz would be ideal for USF1. Quite simply, they need an experienced driver to develop their car. Employing inexperienced youngsters or old codgers will only damage the long-term future of the team.

Not so sure about that. Wurz is nearly as much a codger as Villeneuve 35 vs 37 and he basically left Willams in 07 because he didn't think he had the dedication and commitment to drive F1 full time. Maybe a good guy to have around the shop and for testing but not my idea of a day-to-day driver.

Thing is, with the testing ban, Wurz would have to be the race driver in order to help the team develop their first car throughout the season. It would be pointless having someone good at developing a car only having a couple of test days in it.

Wurz is probably the king of testing and an asset to any team, but now with limited testing...

what are the chances of the villeneuve name back in a ferrari come valencia?

None.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari only drove one car in Valencia. They have very little to gain from bringing in someone for what could just be one race with their constructors standing. Unless it looks like Massa is going to be out for the rest of the season, I wouldn't expect anyone new in their other car. I say this largely because Ferrari have a reputation to uphold, and they are not about to taint it any more than they already have this season by bringing in one of their old test drivers (both are mid to late 30s), or some young talent with no experience, neither of those options would get them points anyway.

I think they will stick by their man Felipe.

Back to the topic at hand... I think it should be said in the defense of USGPE that they have never come out and said anything outlandish like they will win races in their first season or expect to be championship contenders in 2010. I think they have a very real understanding of their chances next year, or lack thereof. They seem to be getting a lot of crap about the two American drivers idea, but it's not like the team is being run by idiots, Windsor knows what it takes to have a winning team and I don't think he would sacrifice that for the sake of publicity. He threw out a few names very early on as potential candidates for the drivers spots, but that's all he said and very little has been said by him since then. Most of these ridiculous names are coming from very unreliable sources, this thread is a perfect example of that. Lets not misplace the origin of them on USGPE, call them idiots when they have actually done something stupid, up until this point, they haven't done anything at all.

Bringing in a driver on a temporary basis is hardly forsaking Massa.

Problem with bringing in a random driver is that The List Of Ferrari Drivers, may be lessend in quality stakes.
Most of the drivers have been very good quality or had something about them, whereas getting a random person may lessen it slightly.

Wurz V Jacques?

Wurz would win

:yes::yes::yes:

Wurz wasn't the quickest driver when at Williams in 2007, but in the crazy races his cool, calm and experienced style came into its own when he managed to make the super-softs and a tank of fuel last over 40 laps to come home and claim a podium.

Then in Germany he was very handy in the wet and reeled in his old friend Webber very quickly in the closing laps but ran out of laps to overtake him and get on the podium again.

I liked his personality too, particularly when he said that Heidfeld should have a shave and that Trulli was going so slow he could have stopped and had a picnic. :D

To be a success you have to have the personality, i love Massa because he has a lovely little personality.

Back to the topic, Wurz has what it takes to be a success, wether it's a team boss or just racing!!! I think he will be closer to getting a seat for 2010, then any other season, but to be honest i think Speed or Klien has a chnce of getting a seat too

Not at all.
Schumi had a crap personality, and Hamilton has got none. Its all same old same old with him.
Nelson Piquet, bad personality.
