True, perhaps even get some EX drivers to be stewarts as well would be a good thing, or at least people with some sort of experiance

I thought i heard something not to long ago about Coulthard becoming a stewart. I hope it's true

I still don't know why there was no investigation for Hamilton's scene. Clearly someone wrecked his race

nah that was fine

ruining somebodys whole race is fine? well congratulations to you! Lewis had a chance to go and take the lead in turn one but oopsie webber crashed his tyres.

Webber was sandwiched between two cars, he had nowhere to go.

ok just to clear this up AFAIK within the rules a driver defending his lead is allowed to protect his lead something like three times is it not before he has to let the overtaking car pass? or am i talking nonsense?

i seem to remember something like this in the rules but cant remember it 100%

So does anybody actually know the rules about overtaking and being overtaking, i seem to remember something about a driver being allowed to defend his lead something like three times before he has to give way so to speak?

He touched Webber's wing on his own, no big deal.

I think drivers are allowed to change direction once to defend/attack at a corner. Lapped cars must let leaders through within 3 blue flags, but there's absolutely no rule over defending your position. That would be crazy! :P

they are allowed to make one move and stick to that line and not criss cross in the braking zone.

but race starts see the rules lax abit because the drivers are finding their positions not defending as such.

yup thats pretty close to how i remember it as well, So theoretically Webber didnt do anything wrong then his move was still within the rules?

The steward who made the call for Webber to get the drive-through was probably the same guy who trashed a Renault on a drag-strip a few months back.

I don't think any incident today required action from the stewards, simple as. Raikkonen made the point in his interview that you can't really see anything to the side of you in an F1 car, and you could argue that that is applicable to the Webber/Barrichello clash as well.

yup thats the one, isnt he some rich arab or something, although i might be thinking of someone else

Think about it this way, its like getting a member of the public off of the street with no experiance to become a linesman in a professional football match, same terms really

I thought the stewarding today was a farce. Firstly, i almost choked on my lunch when Webber got a drive through. For what exactly? it was a 50/50 at worst, im my mind, it was simply an accident, 2 people racing hard to win the position. No-one was hurt and it was a passing incident.
Kimi today just added to the reasons i am so anti-ferrari. He could have avoided that smash with sutil, but as i saw it. purposely hit him. Force India could have got on the podium today (ok...ok maybe not quite) but certainly with a decent bag of points. Why oh why was that to be investigated after the race??? It was not within the last 5 laps, it was clearly an incident that needed a review and the damage for Force India was already done, what couldnt the justice have been dished out at the time?
A meaningless fine will probably ben dished out now, and that will be that. Kimi today was well out of order and i was soooo happy when he retired. Sutil should be proud of his race this weekend.
I also think that the tragedy of the weekend was Lewis. He was very unlucky with the puncture, but alas, it was one of these things. If he was having a good season we would all say that it was unlucky, so just cos he is having a bad one doesnt make it a conspiracy, its just one of those things

You knew something like this would happen when the GP2 race also saw a crazy decision by the race stewards.

Any news on the Kimi/Sutil incident? Was there a decision?
