Mosley will bribe the likes of Guyana, Lesotho, Liechtenstein and the Pitcairn Islands in an attempt to keep his job.

Indeed. But maybe Vatanen could convince the motorsport and automotive industries to apply large amounts of pressure? A lot of teams (not just in Formula One) are unhappy with the FIA, as are a lot of car manufacturers.

Well as shown when the European Car industry sent that letter to the FIA, Max just ignored it. Worrying isn't it?

I love the way Max tries to spin it as if the Car Manufacturers have no business commenting on the actions of the FiA. What a clot that man is.

Well having read some of the issues he voted for in the European Parliament it would seem that Ari will get alot of support from European Automobile Associations. He seems to have rebelled quite alot against bills to give more money to the railway network, restrictions on the automobile industry/extra costs pushed on the motorist.

Also from just reading internet sources, he seems quite sceptical about the whole Green issue atm.

If Vatanen wants to be elected, the odds are against him, because of the voting system, etc. He will have to run a very slick campaign, and probably grease a lot of people in the FIA.

Vatanen as FIA president would be good but election isn't until October. FOTA needs concessions from Max and FIA by end of July for a break-away series to formalize. Today in Pittpass GP1 under starters orders, Bernie is setting up GP1 Series for F1 teams to race under. I see this as an implied threat from Bernie that Max must stand down immediately. And Ari must be thinking what in the hell have I got me self into???

Hmm. I hope this doesn't mean he is happy with Formula One as it is on the powerplant front, as it's outdated and uninteresting. Things need mixed up.

Even if he was to be happy with things as they were, I think Vatanen would be the type of person to listen to the teams and what they wanted, so if they requested changes to regulations (including engine regulations) then I imagine they would stand a good chance of getting a change. Certainly a much better one than they will ever have with Mosley in charge.
