Don't be recontexting my sentence now boys and girls. I mean that if I were a young verile testosterone riddled male I wouldn't want to drive around the streets in my road car with a huge sticker on the side that seemed to tell the world I'm a virgin.
Besides, you all take me too seriously.

Pah! A real man could cope with that!! Just like driving a pink car

Well, Jenson drove a Kart around in bright pink overalls...Does that count?

That counts! kudos!!

Yeah, but it was a joke, and micro analyzing it ruins it.

From Planet F1:

Branson to end Brawn deal over rising costs
Sunday 21st June 2009

Virgin boss Richard Branson on Sunday revealed that he does not plan to continue his sponsorship of the Brawn GP team next year because it would be too expensive.

Virgin stepped in as a key sponsor for Brawn as they scrambled to get the team off the ground immediately before the start of the season.

At that stage, no one expected Jenson Button to be the runaway leader of the Drivers' Championship and for Brawn to be heading the Constructors' table.

But that runaway success will change the equation significantly for next year, and Branson admits the numbers will no longer add up.

"We got in when it was very cheap and it's been great for us with global coverage, but I suspect next year the price will be astronomical and we may have to look somewhere else with a smaller team," he told Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.

"We at Virgin have most likely got the mileage we needed from it.

"Their value has gone from next to nothing to £50million a year and we're delighted for them and we'll have had a fantastic year with them."

With the budget-cap row in Formula One reaching crisis point this week as eight leading teams - including Brawn - announced plans for a breakaway series, sponsorship is one of several issues unclear for next season as teams and investors alike must wait to see what form of competition goes ahead.

Branson called for "sense to prevail" and the sport to remain unified as the opposing sides seek a way forward.

"I think it would be a great pity (for them to split)," he said. "Both sides need to sit down and sense needs to prevail.

"There are good arguments on both sides. Certainly the cost base of Formula One needs to be reduced and most of the teams seem to agree to that. The difference between the two sides needs to be sorted out."

While Branson admitted it is up to the teams to determine their own future, he added he believes the existing structure is the strongest.

"If (the teams) really think it is in their interest (to split) and if they're allowed to do it then maybe, but my feeling is that grands prix have worked really well for 60 years and I think what really makes sense is for someone to adjudicate between the two sides."

As to whether he could be that someone, Branson added he would do what he could to help.

"There's a lot of strong personalities in motor sport and I think that certain of those personalities on both sides need to know the art of compromise and sense needs to prevail," Branson said.

"If I can do anything to help I'd certainly be interested in doing so."

No surprises really, Branson has always been somewhat of a tightwad, always exclusively going for deals that work out ultra cheap for him at the detriment of the other party... part of why he's such a good entrepreneur really.

wonder if hes worried about there season being a one off.

That would be my major concern aswell If I were sponsoring BrawnGP. I guarantee any sponsorship deals being offered at the min are for this year only.

i would be concerned about brawn too. one hit wonder n all that. although branson has form with leavin sports teams, he invested in rugby league team "London Broncos" but that ended. i know rugby is different but hey, he has invested in and left sport before so no big surprise

Agree, in todays news Branson says British Airways should be allowed to go under. Does he wish the same fate for Bernie and CVC. Richard , go away and take Bernie with you, FOTA doesn't need the support of people like you, sir.

Maybe next we'll see Bono and his "charities" on the Brawn car.

Yeah I guess nobody wants to come in and commit to what may be or may not be next year.

I'm a little worried for Brawn, i think there slowly coming of the pace. I think Virgin might pull out too....I just have a hunch?

A potential problem for Brawn is that their car doesn't seem to work its tyres as well in cool conditions, and this is made doubly worse by Button's smooth driving style. If it rains or if many of the Grands Prix in the second half of the season are relatively cool, it could be squeaky-bum time for Brawn.
