Wow. I guess I don't see how Mercedes taking credit for what is obviously a very good motor has anything whatsoever to do with McLaren. DD, you clearly are very biased here...whereas our two McLaren fans are clearly very neutral and undecided in their patronage. Clearly.

Bill go have a search and look at all the negative threads about McLaren or Mercedes leaving the sport etc and i think you will find with glee that DD is the poster! i mean look at his wording here....... "still....." "grass is greener on the other side of the fence" as a fan it just gets tiring having someone who says they dont like teams or has any emotion to a team, its only drivers they follow, to always have a stab at a team. which would make one assume that one person does have emotions when it comes to one team afterall

Mercedes taking credit for a very good motor? it seems if anything they are taking credit for what is a very good car! motor alone isnt the reason Brawn is winning or you would be seeing McLaren, Force India and Brawn in the top 6 fighting it out.
No if anything its glory hunting! you cant just jump ship when youre under fire! McLaren Mercedes is the works team McLaren in majority, is owned by Mercedes for 15 years they have been together in good and in bad. But if they feel the need to brand now that Brawn are winning when at the start they didnt want to have branding because they thought it would clash with their works car thats fine.
its just going to upset alot of the McLaren Mercedes sponsors who signed up for or want association with Mercedes, especially Vodafone who now will have rival Virgin with Mercedes branding.

I see your point bud, but it's a bit hypocritical don't you think? Look at the posts of people praising Hamilton as the next Senna, or slamming Schumacher etc etc and you will find that most of them come from 2 or maybe 3 people in here. It seems like DD is not a Hamilton fan, there are plenty of those...that doesn't make her pointing out that Mercedes is clearly considering badging the Brawn an act of assault on the Hamilton camp. You guys are being a bit overly sensitive and clearly itching for a fight. I think the reason for that is your team/driver's poor performance this year, coupled with liegate some very embarrassing press and a lot of bandwagon fans jumping ship...I get that, I really do. But just as your side LOVED to brag last year, you must expect the other side to gloat a bit this year. You can't have it both ways. It's not like you guys spent last year being quiet supporters who exercised restraint and modesty....so when things are circling the drain for McLaren....you have to expect a little crow dipped in ketchup don't you think?

As far as Mercedes badging Brawn. Formula one is a business to them, not their once every other weekend hobby. It's their engine in the car winning easily, and you can't expect a racing sponsor not to take something from a season that has already gone horribly wrong. Liegate made them look bad, they have said as much in the press. Their 'works' team is duckling hind tit and they are probably looking for a way to salvage some brand recognition that isn't attached to bad press. Not like spygate made them look great either. Be happy they haven't decided to back Brawn completely and unhitch their wagon from McLaren. I'm sure their contract has an out clause for bad publicity. Every sponsorship deal I've ever seen does. They are firmly in bed with McLaren and I give them credit for remaining but you can hardly blame them for wanting their name on the winning cars...that is afterall what sponsoring a race car is all about.

You seem to be an interesting McLaren fan case study: it's fascinating how little things can set you off these days - your nerves must be raw...
Just relax, kick back for this season and enjoy F1 in a less partisan way.

For one i am enjoying this season i havent stopped watching or even stopped posting here because my team isnt doing great, nor am i the type to all the sudden start watching or posting 10 fold when my team is doing well unlike some around here.
So get your facts straight before you go label me a fan of F1 all my life to have blinders on! im bloody sick of your bipolar multi personality disorder, you never know which tex youre gonna get!

All I will say is that I meant nothing towards you personaly and you should know that by now, sorry you feel that way. Yet I would like to ask/tell you one thing and that is not to personaly attack and offend me by saying I have a 'bipolar multi personality disorder'. It seems a tad silly to me that McLaren are doing badly and Brawn are doing so well yet Mercedes aren't benefiting form the Brawn publicity as much as they should in order to avoid upsetting McLaren. McLaren didn't get the job done over winter so they should have no complaints. Merceds clearly isn't the weak link there at the moment. Plus it could help McLaren in the long run if it encourages Merceds to stick around and gets them more money and exposure. Mercedes aren't about to ditch McLaren anytime soon after all, they have the best resources in the paddock and will surely be back at the top soon enough.

What i find stupid...is the fact that Honda didn't do some arrangement to continue to supply engines and have branding on the car even though it was owned by brawn.

Just incase the the car was half decent.

As for Mclaren not getting the job done, i think thats a tad harsh considering they did win the WDC.

But i agree Merc are supplying the engines and as a Mclaren fan i have no problem badging that car as a Merc Powered car.

After all prob wouldn't be nearly as good without that merc engine.

youre talking from a stand point of McLaren and Mercedes being two different entities, when Mercedes owns McLaren in majority.
