Quite a terrible crash by Grojean. Just how it ripped away the wired fencing.

GP2 is much closer to F1, and is a much more established series with a crop of much more competitive drivers. World Series by Renault is somewhere between F3 and GP2.
This weekend in Monaco for GP2, all bets on Pastor Maldanado to win race 1. He's taken pole at Monaco for the last 2 years, finished 1st in 2007, and 2008 came 2nd when Senna beat him off the line. My main question is this weekend, will we actually see any overtaking.
WOOP WOOP WOOP!
Martin Haven has just revealed on his Twitter that GP2 is returning to Eurosport this weekend! Both races live. They have the rights until 2011.
Brilliant, now we will finally get to see the conclusion of this fascinating season.

Brandon Hartley is not racing in GP2. he is racing In World Series And F3? He is in F1 already? So i do not think GP2 is the stepping stone. JB jumped from F3 to F1 in a matter of 2 simple small years! now days it take an average of 5 years. No solid results? As some drivers on the grid today have done quit poorly. But 5 years experience and your there! it all comes down to the dosh, Sponsorship and endorsements! McLaren? Hugo Boss? There's a good one already, or Tag Huer? It's about your image too. Look at Nelsihno!

Hulkenberg takes home pole
By Mark Glendenning Friday, July 10th 2009, 14:46 GMT
Nico Hulkenberg scored a home track pole position for tomorrow's GP2 Series race at the Nurburgring after an eventful qualifying session this afternoon.
The German edged Roldan Rodriguez out of the top spot with a 1m38.161s five minutes before the end of the session, beating the Piquet GP driver by just 0.089s.
Hulkenberg's cause was helped when Luca Filippi spun and stranded himself in the traffic island at the final chicane immediately after the ART driver moved to the top of the sheets, bringing out yellow flags in the final sector.
The stricken Super Nova car was cleared with two minutes remaining, giving Hulkenberg's rivals a final chance to pull something out of the bag, but no one was able to string a lap together and the rookie's time remained safe.
A few drivers had taken turns at setting quickest times earlier in the session. Racing Engineering's Lucas di Grassi spent the longest spell on top before finally being shuffled back to third, and Javier Villa (Super Nova) also briefly held the fastest time.
Hulkenberg's team-mate Pastor Maldonado will start from fourth ahead of Villa, Fisichella's Andi Zuber and Vitaly Petrov (Addax), while points leader Romain Grosjean could only manage 14th.
Nico "you can tell I just want to be the next Michael Schumacher" Hulkenberg.

Hulkenberg dominates in Germany

Nico Hulkenberg converted his pole position into a maiden GP2 Series victory on his home circuit at the Nurburgring this afternoon.
The ART rookie controlled the race from start to finish, eventually crossing the line 13.9s clear of Piquet GP's Roldan Rodriguez.
The victory moves Hulkenberg to within a point of series leader Romain Grosjean (Addax), who had done an excellent job to recover from 14th to sixth before his car stopped with a hydraulic problem two laps before the finish.
Rodriguez may have had to pace to challenge Hulkenberg, but was jumped by Lucas di Grassi (Racing Engineering) at the start and then spent the remainder of the stint bottled up behind the Brazilian, allowing Hulkenberg to open a gap of around eight seconds.
Rodriguez jumped di Grassi in the pits, but by then Hulkenberg was too far down the road for him to have any hope of challenging for the lead.
Meanwhile, di Grassi exited the pits following his own stop to find himself in a four-way battle for sixth with Grosjean, Alvaro Parente (Ocean) and Alberto Valerio (Piquet). A decision to change all four tyres despite the cold track temperature cost him two places when both Grosjean and Parente slipped past, although the threat from Valerio was neutralised when the Silverstone winner parked with a suspected electrical problem two laps later.
Andi Zuber avoided all the drama around him to finish third for Fisichella ahead of Addax's Vitaly Petrov, Super Nova's Javier Villa, Parente and di Grassi. Grosjean's late retirement bumped Sergio Perez up to eighth, giving the Arden rookie the final point and pole for tomorrow's sprint race.
Elsewhere the race passed mostly without incident, although Luiz Razia's great effort to jump from last to 19th in the first three corners was wasted when he was collected by a spinning Luca Filippi, while a scrap between Pastor Maldonado and Diego Nunes ended in a collision that forced Nunes to retire, and caused damage to Maldonado's car that prompted a trip into the barriers a couple of corners later.
