If they can get Button and Sato to drive for free they could pay all the remaining 700 employees a decent salary with only 50 million.

You reckon any drivers would race for no pay??

I would race for free :D

And if Barrichello is desperate enough to stay in Formula One, he might consider it.

If it was created on 5th December '08, then it almost certainly isn't anything to do with Virgin. Unless Virgin had been in talks with Honda RIGHT from the start, and this Louise Reavil had inside knowledge on it.

She might work for virgin and has just used her personal e-mail to register it.

however i think virgin was rumored to be invloved from the start anyway, since they own the site which the honda factory is based.

it costs nothing to register a domain you could do VirginF1, ProDriveF1 FryBrawnF1 etc.. for less than a £10.

and you'd get some nice $$ for selling it back to them.

I tracked her down on Facebook, and she is indeed a Virgin employee. So perhaps she takes care of that side of things for them? Who knows?

Either way, it's looking good for Honda isn't it!

Good news if this goes through.

Are tilting cars legal in F1?

I guess so, BAR is an example (sort of).

yeh i just saw that, when i googled her.

(face book is blocked at work :()

weird that she used her personal e-mail to book it - unless they want to keep it quiet i guess, since [email protected] might be abit obvious.

I say we get a party together and check this Louise Reavil out. We could be the Secret Seven only cooler and solving the mysteries that matter.

You didn't try and poke her did you?:hehe:

You could be right or someone could have bought it hoping the deal goes through so that Branson would have to buy the domain name rights at a high profitable price! :hehe:

oh and welcome :wavey:

Yeah, there are a lot of people that used to do that, but people don't realise that if somebody did do that, technically Virgin can take them to court under infringement of intellectual property, and that individual can be forced to sell at a reasonable price decided by the court. It's not a profitable exercise any more, although it doesn't stop people trying. :)

And also, welcome to the forum from me too! :)

true, but "virgin" since its an actual word could be anything and "F1" could mean anything also since its a achoname.

they would prob just pay it but yeh its a virgin employee so.

Does anyone know a rough estimate of the number of jobs that could be saved by this move?

there are a staff of about 700 there, but lets be clear about this...even if a deal is done, it very likely getting on for half of them will be out of a job anyway. Id expect them to have staff levels around about that of force india, which i think is around the 400 mark. Accross all f1 teams, i think there will be job losses of about 15% this year. Next year at least the same, probably more.
