I dunno, I'd be pretty happy with the old lineup:

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro
West McLaren Mercedes
Rothmans Williams Renault
Benson and Hedges Jordan Mugen-Honda
Mild Seven Renault

And so on... :D

I'd be prepared to go even further back in time. I'd like to see Marlboro sponsoring McLaren again - even though they turned traitor at the end of 1996 :P - to see the old red and white McLarens back again. :cloud9:

I really dislike the look of the old Marlboro McLarens. The West-era livery was much nicer, in my opinion.

I loved the West era. Great when the drivers got their own names on the sides of the cars.

I don't think it is a case of looking to the past. Cigarette companies won't come back so we need to look to the future.
I've never understood why the likes of Pepsico or Coca-Cola haven't entered back into the F1 fold to "rival Red Bull" on sponsorship terms?

Surely there are a few other sponsors out there? Expect more from India and China over the next decade to say the least.

Hm, I never thought of that.

Coca-cola Ferrari? Pepsi Williams Toyota? Whilst we're at it, why not fast food chains? McDonalds, Burger King, Subway etc. could get involved :P

If Coca Cola were to enter sponsorship into F1 why not use their Energy drink brand? Energy Drinks and motorsport seem to be the in thing.

I didn't know they had one..? :)

I really dislike the look of the old Marlboro McLarens. The West-era livery was much nicer, in my opinion.

From an artistic (and possibly aesthetic) point of view, the red and white Marlboro colours were far from the best. But there is more to it than that, in my view. The livery is iconic, for Formula One as well as McLaren, which is why I'd like to see it back.

I think that livery is iconic in all of motorsport. Its so simple yet an awesome livery. :)

Its unfortunate that alcohol advertising is and will continue to drop off due to local regulations and the expansion into the middle east. I know for a fact that in Australia, particular factions in government (or at least influencing government) have been chewing at the laws and regulations relating to Alcohol sponsorship of sporting events.

As a whole, alcohol commpany sponsorship is the largest single industry contributor, and any regulations (despite their ill consideration and condesention towards individual judgement) would push them right out of it. F1 will not be an exception to this.

Since we are all going green, when is mother nature going to back a team...i guess it didnt work for Honda

I agree, the red and white McLarens were/are iconic but I really did love the West livery.
