Although I'm still getting used to the wings, overall I feel the 2009 cars won't look quite as bad as we feared. What I don't like is Toyota. Hopefully they are crap again next season.

Disliking is one thing, wishing an unsuccessful time on them is another.

When the Ferrari fans wish that McLaren have a s*** season, you're all defensive. This is no different.

Yeah I agree. I think you're a cool dude MF, but that comment was on par with that of AKR's. Sorry, but it was uncool imo.

Anyways I think the Toyota looks pretty cool, I agree with 7up that they need to update their livery though. Its not a bad livery, I'm just tired of looking at the same one every season.

I'm afraid it is different. It's impossible to win all of the time; teams can have bad patches from time to time. Overall, though, McLaren and Ferrari have more than pulled their weight in Formula One. Toyota, however, despite having had the largest budget by some distance for the last eight seasons have produced diddly squat. There may have been some political tensions within the team etc., but those do not explain the manifest failings within the organisation. It's time for Toyota to shape up or ship out. With all their money and much-boasted-about capacity to do well in Formula One should the regulations be dramatically changed, they had better have a very decent 2009. If they don't then they never will and should just leave the sport. Only fools or the insane would tolerate such catastrophic failure.

I do not think this is as such a big evolution on last years car as the Ferrari has done. It looks they have relied on straight lines a lot more than Ferrari

Well your entitled to your opinion. But Toyota have achieved more than, say Honda, yet they don't get the same hard time.

Don't worry. I don't think too much better of them either. That said, at least Honda were showing signs of progression until they wrongly calibrated their wind tunnel - one of the most schoolboy gaffes in Formula One history.

I think Honda showed signs of progression, and yes they won a Grand Prix in their time, but Toyota made stupid mistakes to.
Any driver of a higher callibre may have won in 2005.
2006-7 was a bit of a wobble but in 2008 they showed some good pace. I still think they need a Vettel or someone like that in the team, to drive them forward. I hope Glock can do that.
For I would like them to win, I don't think I'd want any team gone on the grid.
Toyota have a long tradition of never winning in Motorsport, bar the odd WRC. Remember how good they were at Le Mans yet still failed?

No team is immune to making such mistakes. Even Renault got that one wrong.

It's not as if they've been at the bottom of the WCC every year - they have had strong seasons and weak seasons. If they'd had a driver more capable of carrying his qualifying speed through to the race than Jarno, they probably would've won a race in 2005, maybe even two. Considering the fact that they are an improving team, and not one that is sat in the same spot year after year, they're more than welcome in the sport as far as I am concerned.

Yeah that GT one was one of the most beautiful prototypes ever. The would've won in '99 if it wasnt for that tire failure.

I think McLaren_Fan and to some extent myself would think of Toyota more highly if Trulli wasn't there. Trulli is the modern day Philippe Alliot, occasionally blindingly fast - especially in qualifying - but on most racedays a mobile chicane, except Trulli whinges more and Alliot blocked and crashed more.

You know, when Jarno isnt whining I think he's a pretty cool dude. Its funny when he's interviewed on the grid because he looks so confused. :hehe:

Awesome Trulli moment:

Note, it's just the Italian accent that makes it cool. The "I'm pushing like a hell" thing is probably because people don't understand that all Italians do, indeed, talk like Mario and Luigi.

I would have loved to have heard some of Trulli's responses to Pat Symonds' nagging cattle prod over the radio when he was at Renault. :hehe:

 Do you think he meant to say "Like-a hell" or "like A hell?"
