Looking forward to BBC coverage. A full, uninterupted race from start to finish will be a refreshing change imo.

i quite liked the last day coverage, was funny

Yeah. I really do hope that the BBC can do a good job next season. To be honest, not one person on the ITV team did anything annoying today. I was impressed :)

I did get annoyed with the commentators and the likes.
But that video to the tune of welcome to the black parade was crackingly funny. Top qualitly.

I think it was time for a change in British Formula One coverage, but that is not to say ITV were all bad. Their coverage started off really well. They had a proper studio, Rosenthal was a good anchor and Tony Jardine was a great pundit. In many ways, Walker and Brundle's partnership was better than the old Walker and Hunt line up. On top of this, their features on the sport's technology was top. Over time, though, things gradually began to deteriorate. James Allen had (and has) the potential to be a great commentator (he clearly loves the sport and knows a lot about it), but he just tried too hard and came out with some absolute rubbish. Then, the studio disappeared and the pundits were left struggling to be heard over car engines and got soaked when it rained (along the same lines as tonight, but worse). Also, the pro-British bias became stronger, so watching the coverage became unbearable at times, with Allen in particular having numerous quasi-erotic moments when talking about Button, and now Hamilton. Despite the gradual decline in quality of coverage, however, there was one thing to cheer about: live streaming of practice sessions. They've been a great addition, so kudos to them for that. I agree with what Denthúl said earlier: although getting rid of the commercial breaks cannot be underestimated, that's not the only thing they should have to offer.

You gotta admit Ted Kravitz had some right balls to go into the Brazillian crowd with a Union Jack.

What was it he said? "It's my last race anyway!" It could have his last few seconds alive! :hehe:

Good riddance as I really cannot stand the advert breaks.

It wouldnt of been as bad if they did it like the boxing and show like 1 or 2 adverts during the break but they dont they show about 5 or 6 if not more and you miss rather alot of the race.

So bye bye ITV. :wavey:

I am glad it is going to the BBC. No adverts and no James Allen. I wanted to punch James Allen today, it sounded like he was willing a problem on Lewis. Even my 2 year old daughter said "he's a silly man."

You can't really go wrong on the BBC. The race coverage is the same and I rarely take much notice of the build-up. I can make my own mind up about that. Whoever does the commentary doesn't bother me too really. Nobody can be as bad as James Allen. I will be glad of the lack of adverts too. I always turn over to Radio 5 when they are on as I am terrified of missing something.

The good thing nowadays is that so many people have the internet, so a decent build up and analysis is not as important as it used to be a few years ago. That's not to say they are now obsolete, for ITV have done some good features in their build-ups, but, if asked, I'd take no breaks over a half-decent build up.
