Coulthard, everytime you watch someone try to pass him you get the impression there's going to be a crash.

Nakajima has been less than impressing me lately, if Williams have saved their pennies carefully I would like to see them swipe Bourdais as a replacement.

And Piquet, even the prod doesn't work on him anymore.

Nakajima seemed to start surprisingly well. I expected him to have mowed down his pit crew God knows how many times and crashed into a lot of others. I think though that Rosberg has upped his game and we're now starting to see the differences in skill between the two drivers.

Coulthard has been poor for the last two or three seasons, but at least up until last season he was always a safe pair of hands who could bring the car safely home. Now, he's a mobile disaster and does the exact same stupid things he used to criticise others for doing. I think he should just retire before he completely ruins his reputation and embarrasses himself further.

which to be fair he is!

i liked his little interview about mclaren favouritism tho

Unfortunately, I have to say DC, which is a shame really.

I think a lot of the people saying that Piquet and Nakajima are really bad drivers are forgetting that they've only just come in to Formula 1. This is one of the downsides of people like Hamilton coming in to a sport - they raise the expectations of all other newcomers unfairly, and as such they get rated much lower than they deserve.

could heikki be suffering the same and it be hurting his confidence?

hmm, he seemed genuine to me!

You should have heard the spiteful stuff coulthard spouted when Juan pablo took his drive. He acts lke Mr. Upright goody two shoes whilst putting in the knife.

I wonder what would happen if Piquet and Nakajima swapped seats Al4x?

I've got to say, if you look back about 15 years to the days of Phillipe Adams, Jean-Denis Deletraz, Hideki Noda, Mimo Schiatarella, Oliver Grouillard and so on (I could probably name about 50) there are no really bad drivers in F1 at the moment.

I mean he should retire immediately.

Nakajima seemed to start surprisingly well. I expected him to have mowed down his pit crew God knows how many times and crashed into a lot of others.

If the only way you can tell if a driver's improving is that he's not knocking over as many pit mechanics as before we're in deep, deep trouble.

Did I say it was the only way you can judge how good or how bad he is?

Nakajima was given the gig this season because Toyota wanted a Japanese driver in the team. He was comparatively inexperienced and prone to gaffes in the junior formulae. If Williams were free to choose a driver, they would not even have looked at Nakajima.

Unfortunately, I have to say DC, which is a shame really.

Nakajima started well, much better than expected, so he would have the right to feel hard done by if he was not in Formula One next season. In Piquet's case, there's been an inexperienced rookie with potential and being plain awful. He's the latter unfortunately.

Coulthard is a clown. He will say just about anything to explain his underperformance at McLaren. I only saw the bit about the 1998 Australian Grand Prix before having to leave the room for a second, but I was surprised he even mentioned the pre-race agreement and didn't give us a violin story. Is the video online at all so I can watch it?

I have to disagree, personally. I think, like others, he needs time to adapt to Formula 1, which is a very different sport to the junior formulae. If he was just plain awful, then he would not even have come close to Hamilton in GP2. He's had bad qualifying sessions, but more and more he has improved on those and his race pace. Today he finished tenth from what was near-enough the back of the grid in pretty bad conditions, conditions where Raikkonen couldn't even get himself in to the points.

Well you'll have to put up with him again next year if he gets the TV job.
