Putting my conspiracy hat on, if the FIA really are true to Ferrari, which would make Max Mosely a friend of Ferrari's, what better way to destabalise your opponent then to cause problems?

Didn't Alonso turn to Max Mosely in his 'time of need' during 2007? Was Max advising Alonso?

McLaren and Hamilton were having a hard time before Silverstone 2008, what better way to de-stabilise McLaren then a few visible conversations with their star driver after such a strong showing in the wet?

I'm sure McLaren still have bad memories over being used as a training ground for Ferrari with Kimi...

Ferrari are welcome to Raikkonen. All he did was gurn and get drunk, occasionally putting the odd good shift in on the race track!

as i thought
urther to our previous story, regarding The Times' claim that Anthony Hamilton enjoyed a "secret" talk with Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali in the Hockenheim paddock yesterday, thereby suggesting that the Italian team is hoping to secure the services of Lewis Hamilton, the Italian and Mercedes' Norbert Haug have ridiculed the report.

Domenicali admitted that he was not aware of The Times claim, but when told what the newspaper had suggested, said: "That's fantastic! It's good news!

"I was walking away from Norbert's party because I had other things to do with our sponsor," he continued. "Anthony just came up behind me and just said hello and that's it, very easy. It's nice to see how these things can grow. Everyone has seen it, I think. Easy."

While, Haug added mischievously: "I think that's a great place to start negotiations with our driver: behind the Mercedes grandstand. Of course Stefano would do that! Why would he not meet in a hotel room or wherever? And he's a gentleman, by the way. He's not coming to our function and then talking to our driver. But I think it's great that there is some communication going on next to the race track, and I think that was it."

 yes as I thought too. And from what I've seen off Stephano Domenicalli i would agree with Haug's assessment of him. He's not the toerag Todt was.

I feel i have to add my own viewpoint here.

Why is it beyond the realms of possibilty that he was having a chat? Why is everything he does or says some kind of elaborate conspiracy? Why does it have to be that complicated?

I`m sure most people speak to eachother in the paddock.

I support Lewis, and i know he has made some brainfarts, but christ he`s 22 years old. I was a little arrogant at that age too if i remember rightly. You have to remember that stories like this one and all of the ones i read about any driver are subjective and one sided. Every journalist has an agenda.

Schumacher was made out to be an evil Nazi in the British press when he was fighting Hill for the title, but in reality he`s a really nice guy!

I`ve gone off topic sorry, Basically my point is this. Take photo of Madonna talking to one of her dancers = MADONNA AFFAIR!!. Take a picture of Paris Hilton coming out of a club with a male friend = HILTONS umpalumpa ORGY WITH RANDOM GUY!. Take a picture of Anthony Hamilton talking to Ferrari = HAMILTON MOVES TO FERRARI AND HAS DRUNKEN ORGY WITH VILLAGE NUNS!

Pinch of salt. Besides has anyone ever met Anthony or Lewis?

Age is no excuse for arrogance I am 20 years old and the best poker player in my university but I don't throw it in their face and compare myself to Gus Hansen (the senna of poker). I'm sure Lewis and his father are decent human beings and Anthony just wants the best for his son but sometimes they cross the line and that is down to inexperience on both their parts. A professional manager who knows the sport and how to handle the media is what Lewis needs and Anthony can go back to spending his son's money

Racechick what would you do if true :banghead:

I would not mind it because he is a good driver, but I would still call him a w***er if he still acts the way he does now :hehe:

But I don't see it happening any time soon unless McLaren don't give him a title in the next 1 - 2 years.
Hammy is only loyal to himself, he wants Shuys records bad & will do anything.
He really thinks he is the greatest & want to prove it.

Given the performances this weekend so far, snapping up Lewis might be a good move for Ferrari. Though, if the Alonso rumours are true, a Hamilton/Alonso pairing should probably be avoided :yikes:

:bs: Pull the other one. It's not April 1st for another 8 months!

Is it me or isn't Hamilton contracted to McLaren for the next five years? Anthony was probably just asking Stefano where he bought his glasses or something...

p.s. Scotty, The Times is anything but a tabloid - they simply know nothing about F1...

why would he be bluffing after Lewis just signed a multi million 5 year deal? it cant be for money. So what is Lewis or Anthony unhappy about with McLaren? Maybe McLaren has asked Anthony to make a lesser presence at GP weekends?

or is everyone making more out of this than meets the eye? remember when Schumacher was seen talking with Norbert Haug, all the sudden he was on his way to McLaren..

No matter how good contract is, there are always extra things to be gained, or unwanted stuff to be cut off. If I recall right, Ron is keeping his drivers on the short leash... regarding team's image, advertising contract etc. There might be something Hamiltons want to do - like shoot a fat-budget add for Ferrari - that Lewis' contract is not letting him do. Or, there are things Lewis is supposed to do according to the contract and Anthony feels he should not. Or maybe they are not allowed to talk publicly about something they'd like to. Or, as you've mentioned, maybe management is trying to push Anthony a bit off the spotlight; they may even be pushing Lewis to get pro manager and retire dad.

Of course, I'm just shooting blanks. Maybe it is something completely different... but whatever it is, I just can't think of anything real that Ferrari could provide Lewis with that McLaren can not, so what remains but little "mind" games..?

It is not just matter of them talking; say, if they had chat inside the building, that might look a bit different. But as it looks like, Anthony was almost intercepted Ferrari's boss while he was leaving party. If he had anything real, he could have get in touch with Ferrari management much more discretely. It almost looks as if he wanted them to be seen and look like conspirators.

At the end of the day, Anthony might just share his thoughts, something like "Hey, look, we're in McL for the next 5 years, but Lewis is young and I think he should try his wings in other outfits (specially if this one doesn't perform); and just imagine how much more experienced and mature he'll be at the time this contract expires... so maybe you guys should keep this in mind and plan to have one available seat in 2013". But why would he do even that in such obvious way..?

I've heard in here a few times now "If Mclaren doesn't get Hamilton a championship in the next...blah blah...he will leave" Ok, well this is two years in a row now that McLaren HAVE handed him a championship. Last year he had nobody to blame but himself, and this year...crash in the PITS to lose one race that was nearly sewn up and take a penalty for that crash into the next race. Who is to blame there? Hammy is. McLaren have given him the title...he just keeps pissing it away.

Thats what I was just going to say. Its not McLaren's fault if he doesnt win the World Championship. He lost last year because of his own mistakes, and it looks to be the same this year. That would be a very selfish thing to do to McLaren because they spent time and money on him, and to just piss away a team that tought you everything you know is just plain greedy.

I have no idea what you're talking about because my eyes are riveted to "your" new image.
