I thought I summed this whole thread up by stating that TODT is not the best person for the job and I have been a tifosi for over 30yr's!

Todt has too many ties to Ferrari and will be a Ferrari employee for LIFE in some sense. We, F1 fans as a whole, want a non-biased non-past F1 team employee to head the FIA. It should be run as a business and if it had been run as such MM would be collecting pension check's by now.

All this stuff about Todt is only because, regardless of what is sensible, the FIA are likely to appoint him as he is already the favourite, primarily because of the Ferrari 'special relationship', and I think that he has been grooming himself for this.
Patrick Heads description that he is confrontational etc certainly sounds right, as that is how he was at Ferrari, and that does make him unsuitable.

In reality there are many capable people with good people skills, experience and no particular bias to any team:- Damon Hill, Jackie Stewart, Jean Alesi, Paul Stoddart, Eddie Jordan and so on plus many from other forms of motor sport. FIA is not just about F1
Obviously, many of these names would not want the job, but there must be someone neutral, ethical and capable out there. JT is neither of these.
