This thread (amongst others) demonstrates precisely why I for one won't be coming here again. I thought the ITV F1 board was childish, but hell, this place takes the biscuit. The incessant name calling, taunting and general bickering is unbelieveable. And the worst offenders? McLaren and Ferrari 'fans'. And I use the word loosely..

Ok, so you can support a team, you can believe passionately in it's drivers and personnel... hell, you can tattoo the team logo on your face if you like, but why, just for once can't you lot have any kind of debate without resorting to the crap I witness here everyday?

There is a hardcore set of trolls that frequent this place who act akin to the English football louts of the bad old seventies, with the exception that they can't actually beat the crap out of others physically, so they attempt (badly too usually) to do it with the written word. And the worst part is they don't even seem to have any real knowledge of the sport. They just cling to the Ferrari or McLaren image as a way of feeling like they have some friends.

Well, enough's enough for me....

To the board mods... I don't agree with censorship of posts, but you really should take a look at some of the vitriolic posts that litter your board - is this undisguised contempt for people what you wanted to see when you set this place up?

Nice speech, very emotional. Umm I am full hardcore Ferrari Tifosa but I have McLaren fan friends in real life, and umm lets see now (As far as this forum is concerned), I have spoken to Bud (A McLaren supporter) many times on MSN and even once to McLaren Fan. And Racechick (Another McLaren Supporter) I've had a few email chats with and also chatted with her on the Chatroom here on this forum. Mr F1tastic, as far as I am aware we are all friends here. I've been name called before as well by some of the very people I just mentioned. I do not take it personally and I would say neither do they when they are called names back. This is just sport. As long as it just stays to name calling AND within the sport and doesn't get to a personal level, no one really cares so get over it.

bud and deMure are fierce rivals but anyone who has been on this board long enough knows that they don't mean it. I joined this forum so i could have passionate discussion with other fans about the best sport in the world. I almost expect to be called names ridiculing my views but as long as it doesn't get personal i think it's fair game

Yeah we are all rivals as such similar to stepping on the playing field but away youd have a beer. but in saying that F1tastic has a point. i am guilty of what he has said but thats the nature of the beast called passion. and i do not agree that i or anyone else on here is akin to a hooligan well maybe juggs...

It does sometimes get a bit heated, but the rest of the time it's just plain banter. :)

Well boyz and girlz, you've heard the voice of reason. If you prefer to just be part of a small club of Statlers and Waldorfs, keep on doing what you've been doing, i.e., calling names and bickering and all - that'll keep fresh blood away (oops, bad choice of words, or not  ).
So please, try to maintain SOME form of decorum. Alternatively, we'd have to use the sin bin a tad more frequently - and we don't want that, do we?

Well... its all a result of F1 getting over Total Domination mode. Maybe next year the BMW lambs will join the BBQ as well.
I hope they taste good cause Kimi will roast 'em :D

And yes, the WE from drivers (or any other individual sportsman) is different from the WE of a team principal or team coach. Ask anyone... and think past the BBQ

It's just banter, if Bud were a girl I would call it foreplay, even though he's made many advances to me via PM I keep telling him a) I'm not that way inclined, (not that there's anything wrong with it), b) He would have to switch to the Prancing Horse before I gave him a look in.

He's thinking about it....

(If it bothers people that much I will stop)

It turns out that Ron is quite fair, when HK was signing his deal he commented on the nice pen so Ron's offered him that if he wins the championship. It seems Ron does that with all his drivers, Mika Hakkinen first met Ron in the winter and made the mistake of commenting on his headwear, he got this when he won his first championship:

We hope our member's are mature enough to work thing's out on their own which they do, eventually. We do our utmost NOT to over moderate.

That's really no reason to leave the forum as bud and deMuRe are just rival's from different team's and as bud mentioned they can still share a pint at the end of the day. Also no forum is perfect but this forum is one of the best.

If you think this board is bad then you have not surfed some of the car forum's. Compared to some of them we are angel's  . As far as the 'censorship of post' this forum has strict rule's about language, racism and inappropriate pic's it's that simple. The 'censorship of post' is actually a good thing because it's a sign for that poster that their language is inappropraite and alot of other website's would just send that member to the 'sin bin'. I hope you rethink your decision and come back but if not take care :) .

Anyway what was the topic again :?:P ?
