See this is going to confuse JA etc with BMW... :?:P

I was just about to say it reminds me on BMW... :)

I think they will be better simply because it would require tremendous effort to be worst. I'd like to see them competing with midfield and snatching a surprise podium or two in 2008, but that is just too much optimistic. They should be happy to get out of bottoms and have a good fight with RB, Toyota, Renault maybe (since they don't look overly promising at this point).

Jabberwockey wrote : Retro it is going back to the start of motorsport

Green - UK
Silver - Germany
Red - Italy
White - Japan

Can not remember any of the other ones

Blue - France (Remember the famous Bugattis? Oh and that is why blue is today still a popular colour for Bugatti).
Yellow - Belgium
and in the pre WW2 era where Japan was just a far, far, far away land and GP racing centred only in Europe, White was actually Germany.

From autosport.com:

Button says a lot of work needed on RA108

By Pablo Elizalde Monday, February 4th 2008, 11:39 GMT

Jenson Button during testing at BarcelonaJenson Button says there is still a lot of work to be done before the new Honda RA108 is competitive following a three-day test at Barcelona last weekend.

Both Button and teammate Rubens Barrichello suffered from a general lap of mechanical grip during the test, with neither managing to show the sort of pace the Japanese squad are hoping for in order to bounce back from their dismal 2007 season.

The good news for the team, however, were that the stability problems suffered under braking last year are nearly gone.

Button was happy with the car's reliability, but he admitted there is still a lot of progress to be made.

"I am pleased with the reliability of the car," said Button at the end of the test. "Generally, we have made some progress this week but there is still a lot of work to be done in the forthcoming tests. The car is completely new which means we are starting from zero in terms of developing the set-up.

"We are also experiencing some drivability issues as we work with the new ECU. The weather conditions today meant that I was able to get my first wet running in without traction control, which was good. On to Jerez next as we continue to keep pushing forward with developing the car."

Barrichello added: "There is plenty of potential in terms of working on the speed of the car in the coming tests and this will come as we continue to make progress with the set-up. At this stage I am happy that reliability is certainly on our side."

Well, given last year's fiasco, it was always going to take time to recover, which is what I think they have done and will continue to do throughout the season. Even if they continued at his rate of development, I think they are still three or four years off being title contenders.

Ross brawn knows car design, honda knows engines, should be 3rd place constructors going from past records.
Remember hondas previous failures were infact mugen evolutions of an obsolete v10 from 1990.
Honda took over Bar who we all know couldnt make a fast billy cart let alone race car.
We will all be suprised I am certain.

That's a much better looking car, but looks won't make it go faster.

It needs more stickers. We all know from boy racers that more stickers => more bhp ==> faster car ;)

I'm Surprised Ross Brawn Didn't have a influence in this and make the car look more 'World Championship Material'

Hey snuggles,
We common people dont have access to a wind tunnel to understand the shapes other than aesthetics.
However, if you stand at a track on a wet day (light rain, damp track) and watch the cars shoot by.
The top three team cars have a beautiful rooster shaped tail of water streaming of the rear diffuser (undercar tunnel venturi bit).
The others, Toyota the worst, all look like a 3 tonne truck drove past on the highway and leave a big choppy cloud of spray in its wake.
In effect, its like being at their wind tunnel, I cant figure why toyota gets it so appallingley bad each year, i think they have trouble attracting good designers to live germany rather than motorsport alley in the UK.
The 'centre of aerodynamic pressure' is usually mostly affect by airflow on and around the front wing then leading under the tub. Toyota always blocks this part up, why, f**k.
Honda looks sweet, airs gonna spill through that front area like a knife in butter i think.

Brawn started at williams as a mechanic in the 80's, and went straight in the deep end at benneton after in early 90's, ferrari we all know about.
Hes only a tradesman, not engineer i think. He is intuitive about what works and how people go about building cars.
