In all fairness to the FIA this is exactly what they did to McLaren at first. It was not until they went BACK in front of the FIA that they were hit with the big fine.

If anything else were to come out from Renault (new evidence) then they would clearly have to be hit hard. McLaren would have escaped penalty had they shown the FIA everything in the first hearing.

Exactly, Ron Dennis is a cheating liar from way back, flows down to the rest of the team...

He shouldn't have tried to lie to the FIA, I'm sick of reading the constant excuses made up from deranged McCheater fans...

That is one ridiculous decision by the FIA. How could they penalize one team and not the other. Ron must have pissed off BE/MM really bad.

MM is pissed off with Ron because he was nearly successful in forming the breakaway series, he's also pissed off because Ron started out as a lowly mechanis and now runs a successful multi million race team. MM was from a very priveledged background albeit with dubious Nazzi connections and he did poo......except run.....very badly. the FIA

He wasnt trying to bring down Renault he was making a point , which he has done with exteme clarity. The point being that the FIA are corrupt and incompetant. Im sure Ron is smiling at the result. It is even clearer now for all to see how biased and useless they are.
Ron fears Renault for 08?:lol::lol: Thats a good one!!

renault will be back to winning ways, but with who as drivers? itll be piquet + alonso or heikki+piquet,

i think id like to keep heikki, it doesnt matter, iyll be like 06 and 05 again

They should keep Heiki hes very good but that wont be good if alonso returns. Alonso wont relish another fast rookie(or near rookie), piquet could upset him too.

as much as i loved 05 and 06, i was soo happy that renault had won as a chasis+engine with alonso i hope if he comes back it wont be like mclaren was, also i dont want heikki going there!!

Looking back at the WMSC Decision on 13 September -

"8.5 The WMSC rejects this suggestion. The WMSC has full jurisdiction to apply Article 151(c) and stresses that it is not necessary for it to demonstrate that any confidential Ferrari information was directly copied by McLaren or put to direct use in the McLaren car to justify a finding that Article 151(c) was breached and/or that a penalty is merited. Nor does the WMSC need to show that any information improperly held led to any specifically identified sporting advantage, or indeed any advantage at all. Rather, the WMSC is entitled to treat possession of another team’s information as an offence meriting a penalty on its own if it so chooses.
8.6 The fact that in its 26 July Decision, based on more limited evidence, the Council had a different appreciation of the gravity of McLaren’s breach does not lead to the creation of a legal test regarding the WMSC’s burden of proof. The WMSC could have imposed a penalty with the 26 July Decision based on the evidence therein, but chose not to (based in part on McLaren’s submissions that there had been no dissemination of Ferrari information beyond Mr Coughlan)."

One can only assume this time the evidence of dissemination within Renault was not convincing enough to merit a fine! The last sentence of paragraph 8.5 would indicate there is clearly some sort of anti-McLaren feeling within the FIA; just as many have suspected for a long time!

Before we all start making too many noises we should see the transcript and FIA explanation first, it will only be a couple off days, then our complaints can take their explanations into account. Lets no go off half cocked.
On the face of it this is an absolutely disgraceful situation, if it is as it seems then I would press not just for Maxs resignation for bringing the sport into disrepute but every single FIA member involved in the decision.
As 'texas' says, its a bad day for the sport, or so it seems. Lets wait and see.
