If the truth is known its probable that Alonso allready knows where he's going and mclaren know who will replace him. Nothing like a bit of drama though to keep people interested.

You could say so: he got the monkey off his back when he left McLaren.

I reckon it's going to be Kovalainen joining Hamilton, but I'd like to see it being Sutil, he was pretty much an unsung hero particularly in the second half of this season when Spyker got their B-spec car going. Sutil and Hamilton are best mates too, they went touring in Australia after the Aussie GP.

I think you'll find that there's been a few former WDC winners that got on just dandy with uncle Ron. Just the ones that can't beat their team mates with the same equipment that have issues.

I really would not like to see that, but wouldn't be surprised if LH doesn't grow into MS kind of alpha driver in a few years...

Uh, you wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't or does become an alpha driver?

Sorry, my bad - not a native English, me.

I fear that LH will grow into alpha driver and that McLaren will change their principal equality formula. I hope they will not, but I fear they will.

I believe until now they did provide both drivers with same cars and they didn't issue strict orders (about letting one driver through) - until only one is able to win WDC, that is - but I do think they were often favouring one driver and that one was able to choose race strategy first (leaving other one to adapt).

Actually I even think that during this season Ferrari was more into drivers' equality. There; I never thought I'd say that.

Is it more understandable now..?

If Ron's given equality to his drivers for the last 28 seasons, I don't see any reason for him to change now. He's had Lauda, Prost (you think Alonso's a politician...), Rosberg, Senna, Hakkinen, Mansell, Coulthard, Raikkonen and Montoya, and he managed to be fair to them and their team-mates. I don't think there's any consistent favouritism over pitstop strategy either - they give priority to the leading car, whoever's driving it. I simply don't see how Dennis's management philosophy fits in with having half his pit area knowing they're being treated second best, and by that I mean the mechanics and engineers, rather than just the driver.

That's exactly it: he didn't. We have it from the horse's mouth, i.e., DC.

Well, apparently he's got some juicy details how it manifested itself - who are you to doubt his sincerity?

I don't know if DC's comments are entirely fair. His first race at McLaren was Hakkinen's first after that massive accident in Australia, so I think Ron can be forgiven for looking after him. Mika might have been lacking confidence after that - that's just man management. Also while it's clear that Ron has had drivers he was particularly fond of personally, it doesn't follow that they recieved any material advantage. I think DC's keen to sell his book so he's hammed it up a bit for a headline. Why would he have stayed at McLaren so long otherwise?

Just an interested observer who has noted how he reacts when not entirely happy about something. And he needs some excuses for doing crap in the best car
