yeah...i would like to see Sutil or even Sato in McLaren, Sutil worked with Lewis in F & Sato over-took Alonslow in Canada! or even Fisi/Barrichello, as those have been behind Alonso/Michael Schumacher in recent years & its gotta be there turn to taste victory!

If I were RD I would hire a driver who will be second Banana to Hamilton. Some new guy who works cheap and has no chance of challenging LH, even if he were allowed. I think that would restore morale in the team.

I really don't think that Hamilton has a problem with fair competition and he certainly doesn't need preferential status to protect his rear end.

If Ron cant dump Alonso without having to pay him next years salary then he should make him the test driver. that would piss him off so much he'd leave and save Ron 15K(his fine) Alonso could then go to Ferrari and team up with Schumacher and they could all tie themselves in knots cheating their way to the next world title.

The test driver solution is a great idea, as long as there is nothing in his contract that prohibits it. I really don't see anyone, other than Briatore perhaps, who would give a character such as Alonso a chair never mind a seat in one of their cars.

I think GP2 is worth a look, and prime candidate, Glock or Carrol.
Glock is fastest right now, and Carrol is stunning.
He came in after missing about 4 races to a car that hadn't scored any points, and instantly bagged 9 of them, in a crap car.
In Spa he nearly took 2nd, but took a tad too much kerb, and then in race 2 moved from 21st to 6th in 18 laps.

Then Glock speaks for himself really, he leads the championship. So hes bound to land hinself a seat somewhere.


But then again, McLaren might want someone more experinced with a Rookie, seeing as that is the trend now, so Button is the best option there

Timo didn't do well when he was at Jordan F1, but since he has some experience now might be worth a try but not with McLaren. There really isn't anyone who has been outstanding like the last couple of years, e.g (LH, HK and NR). Maybe Bruno Senna in a few years time and since Spyker have a new Indian part-owner, Karun Chandhok might replace Yamamoto.

True GP2 hasn't saw any great talent so far, but i honestly think Carrol would do well.
Plus remeber, the guys who have went through have been some of the best drivers around. Drivers like Timo can't be that bad

Looks like the debate on the second seat is academic as Max-a£million-Mosley has moved in to protect Alsonso big time, and that could, in theory, include next season too.
This cut and paste below is from the Sporting life coverage of an interview from Mosely.


Mosley, though, has warned them [Mclaren] the FIA will be watching the rest of the season with interest. "If they do anything wrong to Alonso they will have to answer to us in Paris, and we will do what's necessary," insisted Mosley.

To add insult to injury for Dennis, Mosley has praised Alonso for coming to the FIA's aid, and helping them hammer his team.

"Without Alonso we wouldn't have known what had happened. He is the only one in his team to have done the right thing," remarked Mosley.

"Usually when a driver enters a team, he takes on the behaviour of that team, but he understood it (the spy scandal) wasn't the right thing.

"Until that moment we only had the communications from the Italian Police, but no certainty, which is what we received from Alonso's emails."

Alonso stonewalled questions on the row on several occasions simply answering "no comment - it's what you think."
