Most seem pretty fair, though I'm curious why alonso wasn't given A+ as the report had nothing negative to say about him and I don't recall him making any super critical mistakes this year and he continually punches above his weight. Maybe it's because he was only able to manage 9th in Bahrain with Kimi behind in 10th? Just speculating!

Maybe they give weight to results? So down to not having a win? (not saying thats right, just maybe what they are thinking?)

Perhaps! Another theory is they don't wanna seem like they're favoring ferrari :P

Another one I was just reading was on perez and raikkonen. I think both of their grades are right but what they wrote doesn't seem as fair to me. Regarding perez, the guy has had more reliability issues than hulkenberg so the 40 points gap between him and his teammate isn't too representative of his performance; however, perez does have three crashes to his name, one which was blatantly his own doing (hungary), the other was purely racing incident (monaco), and the third being canada, where the FIA deemed him at fault though myself and others agree massa may not be equally at fault but definitely a significant amount. I guess I'm biased tho cuz I like perez. Nothing against hulkenberg at all, the dude brings points, but he's got no flair in my opinion and I kinda think (ugh I $#@!*& hate saying this) that if he got a top seat he'd be like webber: grab some wins, put in great performances, but still fall short of the WDC in the end. I just don't see champion in him. I can't say I see champion in perez either (can't say I don't, I think it's a "we'll see" for me), but I honestly thought he'd be busting EVERYBODY's balls at mclaren. Very sad that they gave him a completely SH1T car and then the boot, but in hindsight the boot was perfect because force india is better this year anyway

Also, I don't think they took enough note of raikkonen's mechanical issues. I'd write more about that but I just used up all my passion on everything I just wrote about perez. and raikkonen would barely have anything to say about it anyway so these three lines are tribute. :D

So what's an A+ drive to them? Bunch of hard graders with high expectations eh?

Lewis and Nico on the same grade? COME ON! 3 more reliability failures, 11 points difference. No math needed here.

It's because Hamilton is "divisive" whatever that means. I didn't see them mention any other driver as being divisive though. :hehe:

An A+ would likely be perfection and maybe they're being strict with that since there's rarely ever perfection. But if any drivers deserve the A rating it's Alonso, Ricciardo and Lewis. Don't agree with the parity rating at Merc.

Lewis and Nico not the same . They've just played safe with the scores. Don't want to upset anyone I guess.

Nico did drive from 3rd or 4th on the grid to finish in 2nd once this year.

I'd give Jenson a B instead of his B- and I think they were way too nice with Massa's rating, Bottas earned his A- for sure, and although I think The grade they gave the Hulk is a tad low it's more to do with the fact that they chose to compress the field than by the ratings they actually handed out.

I can easily say neither driver deserves A+ in my book. I can almost guarantee hamilton didn't get an A+ because of his shortcomings in qualifying in austria and britain. His race days may be A+ but his qualifying this year has been less than that. I don't think anybody can argue that regardless of their stance on hamilton. Rosberg also doesn't deserve A+ because he lost to hamilton 4 races in a row and failed to get by vergne and hamilton in hungary.

SkyF1.com would go into meltdown if the grades were different between the Merc boys.

I'd agree with that, just look at mercedes twitter because of perceived differences in treatment between the two drivers
