Trick question, there isn't a maximum.

There is a maximum and 3 is the right answer./quote]

Sorry, Missed that bit.

(Since when did you need to explain your answers in a pub quiz?)

This isn't a pub quiz, its pub quiz questions. :) But, as you wish, no need for the explanation.

You have a point about the thread title, so I concede to the point.

You're in a completely dark room with the only light source being that of a LED digital clock, at what times of the day will the room be the brightest and the dimmest?

Well if its a 24hr clock, 23:28/38/48/58/ brightest and 11:11 dimmest?

If 4 digit I'd say 08:08 as the brightest

12 hour, four digits. I forgot you guys are bunch of nerdy engineers. 11:11 is half right

Well then 08:08 as Spanky said. But technically a TRUE 12hr clock wouldnt show 08:08. It would show 8:08. But that'd still be the brightest.

So since none of you have ever actually apparently seen an old school four digit clock, the idea is to light up only 3 digits to display 08:08 since there is energy saved by not unnecessarily lighting up a digit. So 8:08 would not be the brightest.

Wtf is that in English?

You know if you have to keep explaining the question, and adding to it with clauses, its not the best quiz question... ;)

Egads, so now we have to "lift and coast" inside digital clock displays :hehe:

If its a 24 hr clock and the leading 0 is shown for single digit hours then 08:28 would be the brightest and 11:11 the dimmest

If the leading 0 isn't shown then 23:28 brightest and 1:11 dimmest

For a 12 hr clock

08:28 / 11:11
Or
10:28 / 1:11
Depending on the leading 0

Surely a 0 is brighter than a 2? So 08 not 28?

Yes

1:11 dim like ya'll 10:08 bright like me.

EDIT: Or if you'd like 11:11 or 08:08 for the special electric guzzling clock Spanky has.

And, isn't the 5 just as bright as the 2?
So... 08:58 would be as bright as 08:28, no?

If we're discussing how bright a digital clock is before the summer break, imagine what we'll be discussing during the summer break :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
