Nico will have found the gremlins on the promo run

But it doesn't mean he's a #2. Teams like Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes would be foolish to make such a designation .... right.

Redbull and Ferrari have had no problems doing it for the past few years.

Granted!! Let's remember two things:
* neither had two fairly equal drivers, as proven before midway in the season.
* Ferrari has always been upfront with their team orders, even at the risk of a penalty!

Ferrari had equals when Kimi was there before. They would have had equals the last few years, if Massa had been up to making a challenge. Even a non member of the "T Party" like myself, can see the Ferrari policy is far different from Red Bull.

The Kimi/Massa pairing may have been closer than today's Alonso/Massa; but, that was BEFORE Massa's accident!
I don't believe Massa was ever back to his old self, and subsequent comments from him have confirmed that.

"I talked to everyone," said Massa, who narrowly lost out to Lewis Hamilton in a battle for the world title in 2008. "But I also did work with a professional psychologist, sporting psychologist...

Mercedes completed a shakedown test of its 2014 Formula 1 car at Silverstone on Friday during a 'filming day'.

The team did not release any images of the W05 in action, but announced that it had managed 40 kilometres of running across two hours during the afternoon, before stopping as dusk fell.

Nico Rosberg was at the wheel for the initial run.

Mercedes is the first F1 team to reveal that its 2014 car has had a successful first run.

The team has not planned an official unveiling for the W05, but its public debut will come when winter testing begins at Jerez next Tuesday (January 28).

Lewis Hamilton will drive on the first and third days of the test, with Rosberg at the wheel of the car on the second and final days.

Well that makes sense really with button being the vastly more experienced driver. Let him iron out the obvious problems then let mag get a taste of F 1.

Button spent a lot more time in the garage than Perez last winter testing, presumably because he likes the car to be perfect before he braves the track. Let's hope Ron puts an end to that attitude as mag will need a properly shaken down car to get some running under his belt

I am not sure the term pull out is correct with all these new phallic cars being around

Despite everything just said in point two, the paddock has been awash with speculation that Mercedes could be the dominant force in Formula One in 2014 (some have gone as far to say they think Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will walk away with it, turning the title into a straight battle between themselves).

Frankly, no-one really knows where they are, but it would make sense for Mercedes to leave the test in Jerez appearing as frontrunners for the season - they have invested hugely in some of the best technical brains in the sport.

Ooohh big pressure on Merc, probably from those who said last winter the team could not make up a big performance deficit and was over staffed with top engineering brains

No, I mean come here and just wait for everyone to post stuff. I think GP update has live updates during the testing but nothing that I know of with streamed live video.
