You mean like; Bernie, my balls are blue... Is Tamara around? Type of favor? He obviously doesn't have that much pull if Lewis asked out of McLaren and the best Bernie could deliver was Mercedes.

I think Marko likes loyalty so turned Lewis down. Webber has always been loyal to the redbull brand

Vettel wasn't very loyal when he refused team orders earlier this year.

At no point did he say Lewis was unloyal, he was suggesting that Marko didn't want to oust Webber because he's been so loyal to the brand and has stuck with the team and helped them grow....

Sorry I mean YEAH LEWIS IS THE BEST QUICK JUMP ON ANYONE WHO MIGHT POSSIBLY THINK ABOUT CRITICISING HAMILTON THE GREAT DEITY IN ANY WAY!

Well that's because Webber isn't in the same category as other top drivers, not like he's got options in F1. Does the ugly guy leave the hot wife?

:-? At no point did I say lewis was not loyal. I said marko likes loyalty and that is why he kept webber who has reciprocated the loyalty. If you guys who are loyal supporters of Lewis have a sore point about Lewis in that area smoke=fire

Yes. Especially when she is an annoying, attention seeking bitch.

But bernies power was born out of the teams wanting a better deal for themselves. I believe at that time Bernie was the man for the job.

People keep having a go at him for this fraud. But how many of these deals go ont the background every day and no ever hears about them.

Not sure if you have seen this, its been knocking around for years, but its an interesting read for those who are interested in forensic level knowledge of corporate structures and in particular F1, FIA, Max, Bernie and why Ron Dennis got screwed

long, but worth a read if only to understand the context of this deal where he doesnt appear able to bribe his way out of

He's money driven and it looks like money will be his down fall. I won't lose sleep over his misfortune.

I figure we'll be talking about the umpa lumpa quite a bit in the next few months.
ESPNF1 Bernie Ecclestone is facing more questions over the sale of Formula One in 2006 after a court in London ordered the Formula One Group to hand over documents relating to CVC's purchase of the sport.

With Ecclestone having already been indicted in Germany, the Financial Times reports Ecclestone and other defendants are facing a claim from Constantin Medien - the German media group - for damages of at least $171m amid claims Formula One was undervalued when it was sold to CVC from previous owners BayernLB. Constantin Medien's interest is because it "had a contractual right to receive a contribution from the sale of BayernLB's stake in F1", the report says.

With his indictment in Germany relating to allegations of bribery, Ecclestone will now have a second case to deal with as he is likely to be called as a witness in the Constantin Medien court case which has been set for October 28.

According to the Financial Times, the documents the court wishes to see include "due diligence reports on F1 at the time of the sale and the refinancing … in-house financial models projecting revenues and costs … and documents relating to the addition of a race in Abu Dhabi to the F1 calendar."

Constantin Medien's claim revolves around the value which was given to the sport a year after the sale: "The stake was sold for $820m when CVC completed the purchase of F1 in April 2006. But CVC's refinancing of F1 a year later implied a valuation of the stake of $2.8bn."

Horner dedicates a love song...

ESPNF1 Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has said Formula One would be "unimaginable" without Bernie Ecclestone running the show.

Ecclestone is currently facing allegations he bribed a banker during the sale of F1 to current owners CVC Capital and has been indicted by a German court. Meanwhile, in London he and other defendants face a claim from Constantin Medien - a German media group which used to own a share of F1 - for damages of at least $171m amid claims Formula One was undervalued when it was sold to CVC from previous owners BayernLB.

But despite Ecclestone's looming legal issues, Horner cannot imagine the sport running smoothly without the 82-year-old at the helm.

"Bernie is a unique individual who has run Formula One tremendously successfully for the last 40 or 45 years," Horner was quoted by the Daily Telegraph. "The business, as it is today, is because of the way he has run it and operated it. It is unimaginable for him not to be there."

Horner said he fully backed CVC's decision to leave Ecclestone in power amid the current legal issues.

"It's obviously very difficult for us to judge the issues [Ecclestone] is currently dealing with, but I'm sure he is fully focused. So long as Bernie is able to run the business, then he is absolutely the right guy to be running it. It's as simple as that. And he has the full backing of the shareholders of Formula One."

And Horner denied he is being groomed as a potential replacement for Ecclestone.

"No, not at all. I'm fully focused on what I'm doing. Bernie is a remarkable guy, and I doubt he has given much thought to succession to be honest with you because he is focused on the here and now, which is where the issues tend to be. I hope he goes on for a long time to come."
