the lack of discussion is probably a good indicator that this tour has fallen pretty flat so far. this is a pretty funny clip.

Does anyone else find the Tour coverage on ITV4 extremely infuriating? The commentators would be pretty much silent if you take out the stuff about the areas they're racing through and them nearly having orgasms everytime Cavendish and Frome appear. It's so off-putting. :banghead:

I didn't hear Cavendish mentioned once today. I tell a lie, they mentioned him when he came across the line with the other sprinters. It was all about Froome winning the tour ( of course they're gonna go for that) and also the little Columbian.. Quintana, he's a talent. But hats off to Froome. I like him better than Wiggins.

I watched most of it live as it was not far from my house. I thought they gave a pretty fair commentary.

You should hear the Colombian commentators swooning about Quintana.

Yesterday they were fairly waving the Union Jacks! :hehe:

Did you not fancy going and watching the Tour pass?

Yes. But only arrived after after a fifteen hour drive so the tele option was easiest. Next year will do it!!!!!

Coverage of most tours consists of commentating on the backdrops the stage is going through. European tours are great for this with so much history!

I particularly like when a commentator has first hand experience riding through some of these areas and landmarks so they can directly relate to what the riders are experiencing.

Watching the TDF is like watching NASCAR, so much is about strategy and positioning yourself for the dash to the line. Although I watched every stage of this year's race, I do prefer the Giro.

Btw ... Is there a cycling thread here? I did a quick search and didn't find one, but maybe I missed something. :bicycle:

Maybe you should create one, then.
