I still enjoy this semi-manufactured sitcom!

Yayyyy!!

[andrew]

It's getting to be a force of habit kind of thing.

[LewEngBridewell]

Aww you LOVE it andrew

[andrew]

Too many gimmicks for my liking. F1 needs to go back to basics to become truly great again. DRS, KERS and fragile tyres detract from the racing.

[racechick]

True that Andrew! true that!

[racechick]

Interestingly, on the front of Autosport is the question...'Are fragile tyres and DRS ruining F1?'

mark Hughes- yes, they've crossed the line between a sport and a show.
Johnathan Noble- No. Do we want to go back to processional racing.

I know which one I'm with on this. Off to read the whole article now.

The aero reg's need to be totally revised so that the cars are less reliant on aero and more relient on mechanical grip. The cars have far too much power and the brakes too efficient so the braking zones are far too small to allow any decent out braking action like there used to be (remember Murray Walkers "last of teh late brakers" from back in the day?). There's plenty of overtaking on-track but it just seems false as they are relying on fancy gizmo's and less on driver skill. F1 was much more exciting in the mid-90's.

Well if people don't like it they can go and watch something else.

Moan moan moan moan moan................

Love from Lew. xxxxxxx

Until someone makes a firm decision on what F1 is about (drivers or technology), we will always face these problems.

Just re-introduce regular shift sticks and the comedy becomes hilarious - can you imagine Maldonado missing a gear, losing a couple places and then going off in a fit?

[spankyham]

I'm for technology that relates to motor racing. I also believe F1 should be the pinnacle of the sport. Aero's are in themselves, not the problem. It is that other avenues have been completely blocked - ie the engine freeze. And then gimmicks are created to "spice up" the TV show for the masses. DRS and spaghetti tires to name a couple. Personally I'd also ban radios.

Just ask 'did you hear any women?'

I would have described them more as lasagna.
