It's a poor idea, part of the challenge of f1 is building a car and being able to focus on all types of circuits and in any eventuality.

Tennis is different, players don't enter every tournament, so it makes sense to have some big tournaments which will be able to attract all the top players to the same event so fans can see them play each other. No need for this in a grand prix.

If you have points for overtakes; points should be deducted for being overtaken! If you end up +5 on your starting postion, you get 5 points, if you end up -5 places, you get five points deducted! And bonus points would be awarded for fastest lap, pole position and a win! There you go, the brand new points scoring system, let's get it ratified!

Maybe some points for the fastest pit stop, least fuel used, etc. could go towards the constructors championship.

The margin of difference is irrelevant; each round need to have the same points value to be fair... I'd much rather have a point for pole in Q and the fastest lap in the race!

they should definitely bring this back

I don't think there has ever been a point for pole in F1. A point for the fastest was only on the go from 1950 - 1959.

If the championship were based solely on those two things it'd make it interesting...

I don't think there has ever been a point for pole in F1. A point for the fastest was only on the go from 1950 - 1959.

I thought there was in the 50's? Or was it just fastest lap?
