TO AKR and cap-dude:

I never stated the reasons why they prefer Latin drivers, just that they do, which both your posts confirm your opinion is likewise.

They do care more then any other team would, Ferrari revolves around its Italian heritage, infact i think its stupid that i even need to explain it, You all watch enough F1 to know about Ferrari as the premier F1 team, and theyve always liked being as italian as possible, if they cant get that, Latin brothers are the next best thing. Test driver, Jules Bianchi French/Italian Luca Badoer till recently, italian, Sergio Perez on the driver programme, Latin. These are a few lines in a novel of reasons and evidence to suggest what im saying.

Remember im not saying its a bad thing, a good thing, its just a whatever thing. But they are more likely then Mclaren and Merc and even williams to go right for their home drivers. Merc and Mclaren just hit the jackpot with two british WDC's and two german 8xdc and up and coming potential wdc.

Infact it was only a couple of years back Ferrari were publicly vocal about restoring a majority italian team, with the arrival of Domenicalli and such.

I don't buy that about Ferrari, their last two champions were Northern Europeans. And the fact they have many British and other nationalities employed by them I dont think there is any bonus in knowing Italian if youre the driver when most of the technical people would be speaking English. I doubt Pat Fry knows Italian for example and it wouldn't be a prerequisite to work for Ferrari. They want who is best for them.

With all due respect i often wonder whether the people i debate with on here have any verbal reasoning and sense at all, that or its below average.

Saying and i quote " PREFER" does not mean Ferrari will go to the ends of the earth to find an italian to drive for their team, it means exactly what ive just said it means, they PREFER latin drivers to any other, its more suiting to the team and their "ideology". Christ everythings made so sinister on here through people not reading properly and jumping the gun. Fine you disagree, my opinion is there to be challenged, but so far youve ALL been fundamentally misled in what im actually saying, and having re-read my posts its clear what im saying. Youve all just assumed im being negative. Mclaren probably prefer British drivers most teams probably want a home driver. But Ferrari i think are clearly more interested in being as italian as possible then any other.

OMFG, someone else please for the sake of mankind read my and buds conversation, for the love of god someone please.

FRAFPDD:

" Fine you disagree, my opinion is there to be challenged"

* FRAFPDD highlights the follwing of buds " Mate its a forum right, you debate things on here, im just stating my opinion on the subject"

FRAFPDD replies: " which is exactly what i just told you ( see first quote of FRAFPDD's) no need to go telling me it, i said if you disagreed, then you disagreed, it werent a problem."

Where in the name of all that is holy, did any of that suggest/imply/say that your not allowed to put your view forward on here?

You dont see how justified i was to say that, when despite being told three times, you still managed to come to some absurd conclusion that you cant have an opinion.

Dont move the goalposts now youve been proven utterly and truly wrong. You were moaning about being allowed an opinon, not that quote youve just posted. Your digging a bigger and bigger hole by being proven damningly wrong and now changing subject. Your problem wasnt with that quote, so much so that youve only just decided to point it out despite being 3/4 posts ago.

i think FRAFPD is getting confused at what people are saying about his opinion... you think people dont understand your opinion, when indeed they do. they just think its wrong (or not what is seen from actual facts), thats all.

i agree with Bud and most everyone else.... Ferrari may or may not prefer a certain profile/nationality, but whether it is a strong point when evaluating who to bring onboard i doubt it is the relevant factor. And this has been shown over and over again.

Maybe you could say Merc prefer germans, and Mclaren prefer britons, but thats only because at this moment they have their given drivers...... when the time comes to look for others i also doubt they'll prejudice themselves... but this is all speculation. No one knows ALL the factors teams take into consideration when they hire drivers, but nationality seems as random as everything else.

This is exactly what im trying (and obviously failing, although i REALLY dont see how....) to say. Mclaren and Merc only have two Brits and Germans due to circumstance, Ferrari never have or will not chose a driver they want cause of their nationality, but i feel they like it more when they have Latin drivers cause of the language, culture similarities, its the next best thing to having italians drive for Ferrari, its just there hasnt been italian drivers good enouh for decades.
